SURFING ON SINE...(PICTURE IN THE COVER?)

nacmat from spain on 2002-01-18 09:30 [#00071521]

Do you know where was the picture taken?
can you tell me if this is a simple album or rather a
compilation of some eps, cos i think ive seen its songs in
other cds (more or less like classics which seems to be a
compilation of two or three eps)

another question:
songs 9 and 10 were added in the last release, where do they
come from? one is very similar to latest work and the other
fits quite good in the cd.

I was under the impression the pic comes from down in sunny
Cornwall...Redruth or Newquay (well known for surfing)...

As for the other tracks, I think perhaps they were old
tracks that didn't make it to the original.... neither are
outstanding but it's always great to get some new AFX
regardless...

From the FAQ at www.theaphextwin.com ...

D:2 "Where were the pictures taken for _Surfing On Sine
Waves_?"

The photo on the front cover shows where there used to be a
swimming pool
made from the rocks of Porthtowan beach in Cornwall. When
they were nippers
they'd stand on a wall for as long as possible and let
massive waves crash
into them. If you fell the right way you'd get mashed on
the rocks by the
sea. "Porth Towan" is even listed in the "thanks to"
section on the back of
the album.

yeah, it's the picture of some beach RDJ used to frequent
when he was younger I believe...

well..the picture on the inside of the cover looks as if it
was taken in a subway...also if you look really closely it
says "surfing sine waves" upside down and in really small
lettering..
and no, none of the songs on this album are on the
classics...i think a few were on singles (ie. quoth) and the
track 'polygon window' was on the artificial intelligence
comp..

Yep, I love that tunnel pic...has been my wallpaper on more
than one occasion...

Think it's somewhere on the London Underground....loads of
the UG stairs/corrdors look like that (kinda techno really,
loads of great perspetive on some of the longer ones)...

Never noticed those tiny letters before...(then again, they
are possibly the tinest they could be without looking like a
single dot...)...Cheers...One for the FAQ...

city.
