MASSIVE ATTACK

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-05 14:04 [#00005712]

I like Trip Pop, I like Massive Attack very much and I'm
happy to see that also [REFLEX], Ross, etc... like them,
too.

*Question*:
What Massive Attack album Do you prefer?
My favourite album is Mezzanine.

\/\/\/ooÆ’ER

SWAI from Denmark on 2001-05-05 16:49 [#00005715]

Mezzanine 2

the greatest.

i find it rather spooky
the basslines are great

i like portisheads, "portishead" better tho

better than dummy if you ax me

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-05 19:34 [#00005726]

man... MASSIVE ATTACK is awsome. If you want like spooky
good old bassy stuff then you want Mazzenine.... which is
totally awsome. If you want like chillin more upbeat jazzy
styles then youd like BLUE LINES.. their first release. The
protection album they did is good as well. But not as good
as the other two. Hey, Woofer if you like TripHop and you
haven't already checked out the SNEAKER PIMPS, or
PORTISHEAD, then do so! They are awsome. especially
postishead.

ross from can on 2001-05-05 20:46 [#00005729]

yeah, mezzanine is by far the best..for the elizabeth fraser
tracks, the thumping basslines (especially angel's insane
bassline) while protection is alright, but a little all over
the place

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-05 20:47 [#00005730]

mezzanine... the track 2 is AWSOME!... so is teardrop and
man next door...

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-05-06 11:23 [#00005766]

note of advice : If any of you remember a little movie
called "fifth element" you might remember a black guy with a
british accent (the one who works for "zorg"),.. that guy IS
massive attack,.. don't know how does all the fem. singing
though

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-05-06 11:24 [#00005767]

typo - how = who

SWAI from Denmark on 2001-05-06 13:33 [#00005770]

I like Track 4 and 7 best on mezzanine

I think the Fem singing is simply guest singers or
something. its not like theire in the band. its almost a
different singer for each track

what part does that white creepy looking guy have in
massive?

ross from can on 2001-05-06 20:34 [#00005780]

yeah isnt tricky in 5th element (he used to be in massive
attack, his new solo stuff is shit currently) the female
singers are always different each album, which makes ma
albums interesting, though liz will be on the next one,
along with damon albarn, david bowie, etc.

Skooda from Not disclosing today thankyou. on 2001-05-06 21:58 [#00005785]

I heard the girl -Martine I think her name was- who sang on
Tricky's first and second solo albums, maybe more, is
releasing an album. Unfortunately I'm a bit strapped for
cash at the moment ( huff)

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-07 07:30 [#00005812]

About Mezzanine, my favourite song is track 4.

[REFLEX]: I know Portishead and Sneaker Pimps. Thery're good
band, but I prefer Massive Attack.

If you like Massive Attack I suggest to you the following
names: TERRANOVA and HOOVERPHONIC (especially the first
album, it's great).

Everybody try to download track 5 (Barabas) and track 8
(Sarangi), about Hooverphonic, it's are awesome!

ClobeSmith from over here on 2001-05-07 07:42 [#00005814]

for hooverphonic (and i know this is a massive attack post
... but anyway,) i was always partial to battersea and
magenta. but when it comes down to it, i like portishead
more

hexane from Australia on 2001-05-07 11:39 [#00005817]

i think dummy is by far the best portishead release - more
'samply' than the others i s'pose

Netlon Sentinel from beyond on 2001-05-07 20:05 [#00005835]

hey hooverphonic are cool! tuna is my favourite off of blue
wonder power milk. i don't like their latest stuff, though.

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-07 21:00 [#00005840]

I just bought SAWII Portisheads Dummy and Massive Attack vs.
Mad Professor.. check that one out if you like triphop
shit.. its awsome.

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-08 07:24 [#00005872]

[REFLEX]: Do you think Massive Attack Vs. Mad Professor is a
good album?
Many times I saw it but I didn't buy, I wasn't sure.

wooÆ’er

girlygrin from Finland on 2001-05-08 13:10 [#00005886]

WooferAttack(?) Massive vs. Mad Professor wasn't so
impressive, or it just didn't hit me. I only listen it twice
or so. Don't waste your money on that.
The Blue Lines has the best Massive's song, Unfinished
Symphony. It gives me goosebombs. But the best record is
Mezzanine. That record is good entity.
Has somebody listen to Jimi Tenor? He does electricmusic,
kind of jazz influences in it. His one of my favorite
finnish musicians.
It was nice to know that there is a lot of people who listen
to same kind of music as I do.

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-08 14:54 [#00005891]

Girlygrin: Thanx for your advice, I suspected that it isn't
a great CD.
About other album I'm agree with you,
Mezzanine is absolutely the best.

Mafx from swaziland on 2001-05-08 15:39 [#00005898]

I like massive attack, especially mezzanine
-cool

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-09 04:05 [#00005936]

WooferAttack: yeah..... MAssive attack Vs. Mad professor was
awsome! i bought it this weekend.. well worth It I think.
Check it out, Mezzanine was the best though, but this one is
awsome too

Scary Bear on 2001-05-09 10:43 [#00005961]

To all you guys reading girlygrin, don't get her wrong. Sure
the vs. Mad Professor album ain't for everyone, but I do
think it is pretty amazing. Mezzanine as well.

To all those who care- Q awarded the Vs. Mad Professor album
as one of the best 5 albums in the world that is influenced
by Marijuana. If you like the Prodigy as well as Massive
Attack then it is pretty likely you'll like Leftfield's
Rythm and Stealth. Has anybody heard any other Leftfield
album/s. I am pretty new to them, have known about them for
ages but never bothered to listen. It sounds abit more
mainstream influenced but there are definitly some quality
sounds on there.

Scary Bear on 2001-05-09 10:50 [#00005964]

Does anyone know when they are going to bring out a new
alum?

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-09 11:07 [#00005965]

Scary Bear: I like Prodigy and I like Leftfiel too.
I have only one album about Leftfiel, the title is
"LEFTISM", I think it's enough good.

Joyeboy from California on 2001-05-09 20:55 [#00006007]

I heard a while ago that Massive Attack would probably have
a new album out this year, don't know when though... I know
for sure they've been working on it.

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-05-10 07:27 [#00006073]

Hippy Ya Yeah, this is a good news!
I'm hope Massive Attack release it soon.

woofer did you go to see them?

i heard they played a really nice selection of songs (tho

Mezzanine is my favourite album, followed a close second by
Blue Lines. The Mad Professor remix album is amazing, much
better than Protection, finally 100th window...so that is
how their releases line up as far as my preferences go.

My fave single of theirs though is a track called 'home of
the whale', heard that one ?
