Can someone explain to me why in Jazz or electronic music you often find rare japanese releases...is the japanese governement subsidising overseas artists to release stuff in their country? |

it's an incentive to buy, since it is expensive to export there |

So their government has high tariffs on imported music (cds etc..) and so artists worldwide will prefer to release a japanese edition/recorded in Japan to avoid this tariff and try and sell more records there...is this right...? |
