anyone diggin the albums from merck ? proem, for example is
very very good thing to listen, just like the other artists
from merck.

i'm quite keen on esem and ilkae. but i haven't heard much
of the other artists - just the old works of some of them
while back on the tracking scene. oh, and mr. projectile! he
also has some really intriguing output.

from merck.

eyh man...marck has a couple of awesome releases.
i have artists like machine drum, proem, esem, tiki
obmar,helios,xela,novel 23,syndrone.

but apart from the whole m3rck rooster i prefer machine drum
and xela.

Merck by Balil is like one of the best songs ever, screw the
label!

As for the label, I haven't heard too much aside from the
Lackluster releases.

Merck is one of the most consistent labels out there. The
new Mr. Projectile is great, and the Landau album samples
sound really cool.

I like pretty much their whole catalogue, in particular the
Lackluster and Machine Drum releases.

merck is a good label. i haven't heard many full albums
except unomia and the landau album but most of the samples
are great.

i think merck is kinda boring...too much similar
artists...not enough variety (if any at all) for my taste i
guess.

m3rck has lots of variety
ofcourse they are aiming for a special sound which is mostly
in the same category, I think that is normal for a lable
because that way you know if you are going to like their
releases or not

did you hear all their releases?

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-08-01 06:59 [#01292052]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

no, i haven't heard all their releases, but i have two
samplers with various artists, and usually when i want to
find out about label samplers work for me coz of the
variety...unfortunatelly merck samplers are very boring. i
just don't like their thing i guess.

wrong. brothomstates was signed to warp for quite some time
before merck. brothomstates wasnt 'signed' to merck, anyway,
just had a very strong affiliation what with one compilation
track, remixing MD, remixing Machinedrum and remixing PROEM.
sofor some reason it was brothomstates(merck/warp) on
flyers.

It said on Bleep that Merck was the original home of
Brothomstates and Jimmy Edgar, so I figured Warp just picked
him up from there like Jimmy Edgar, but I know you're close
with him so you know what you're talking about. Sorry for
the misinformation.

"scenester
7 thumbs up
click to vote

a person who is very focused on image and appaearance in any
given scene (punk, indie, emo, etc). said person is often
concerned with name dropping and "testing" other individuals
regarding their knowledge of the particular scene. if these
individuals are not as knowledgable as the person considers
acceptable, they are looked down upon and/or excluded.

The scenester said, "I saw Husker Du play in my friend's
garage. What, you don't know who they are?"
