At Glade he played more or less the same set as Tokyo gig that scheme88 has online. [do a search LAZY_FOLKS] and seeing as it's basically owned me the past few weeks i thought i'd talk about it!
trk 1: Talk about you and me: .. a nice little opener, not to frantic and allows TJ to warm that funky bass up
trk 2: Dimotane Co. .... what a track to play on this tour. Its a classic FMWT tune that has been a stomping fave for years now. It contains all you want form SP and despite being an old tune it sits well with his UV and Breezblock acid/percussive songs. Noice!
trk 3: unknown .... you got to play a new one at gigs dontcha and he serves up a gorgeous little full on 4-to-the-floor rave track that allows him to bang the bass along with same. Lovely.
trk4: chin hippy .. yes. From HND comes that absolute squarepusher classic. if this doesn't contain everyone of his signature sounds and structures i dunno what does. Plus he gets in there with his bass to produce that great 1000-ton jugernaut hget-the-fuck-out-of-my-way-through-traffic sound. A killer.
trk5: Menelic The 1st UV trk on this set grabs you with its signature flange effects and pulsating rhythmn. You knows it!
trk 6: unknown Ah but we know this from the breezeblock set. its like an Angstrom Feck4 remix and has that same driving beat. No bass playing here but we don't mind Tom taking a break and pushing them squares.
trk 7: angstom Feck 4 The DYKS stomper kiks off with a stretched out vocal about facial realignement only to be sweetened to the max with a live bassline taking over the persian melody. It keeps the beet of the previous track icely too. Awesome.
trk 8: Tetra Sync A UV favevourite to many, and for me the new "Beep street" - driveing, emotional, pulsating and a demonstration of all thats best to Toms jazzy side. There is so much feeling in this track and at Glade it holds wrapped you in its familiar grip tight. What a track!

trk 9: Steinbolt:
when you here the words "are yoir ready for a proper fucking rave?" you know you're gonna get it hard and abnormal. This trachmetal jungle track is soo twisted but TJ has got you rightbin the mood too be taken somewhere else. When that fucking massive synth comes in you're totally slammed against the wall. A killer and the trasck that brings you out of Tetra siyncs embrace with a thump. Yes!
trk 10: Come on my selector Fucking 10 minutes special teased out with supurb bass Tomfooler with all those elemnet we know and love amplified and stretched around our spines: The opener chopped up high speed vocal, "let the bass kick" the classic bass line, "im the ficking daddy", "its alright mate it sounds a bit like goldie"
... SP knows how to please his audience.Wowsers
trk 11: Journey to Redham Just wehn you think its over, he encores with that familiar bouncing arcade sound that sopins everyone out of their fucking minds. This track is also stretched to the absolute limits with live bass, slowed down percusion and plenty of on-th-fly bass noodlings... its ends so well to with new beats coming in and a final bass flourish. Well done that man!
Inbetweeners: All the bassy noodly stuff between tracks was amazing too and if your into SP this is very much port of the show. its a big tease and the glue that holds it together. i said it before, but there is nobody ou there doing this kind of performance as far as i can see.
You cannot deny the fucking glory that this guy deserves. Quality!

i'm pretty sure the first one isn't. the Venus 17 single tracks are on the UV 3" promo (venus no. 17) and the breezblock set (acid mix, tundra 4). The 1st unknown trk i mentioned isn't there.
for real.

oh and in Glade and Tokyo set he made me crack up with a few seconds of folksey gibberish he spouted between songs. He's a funny fucker!
Also, he seems to really love japan and they do sound like the best crowd yiou can get - cheers at all the right moments. All too often i have been to gigs where folks just stand and watch. You gotta fucking jump around and squarepusher totally digs that.

so you want me to search for it? shheeese..., lucky i'm a nice guy!
.... giz a sec
the quality is crappy until after dimotane co. Don't let the roughness of the first 10 mins put you off. I personally have a very high threshold for shit quality but most peple seem to hate it. (i could listen to SP underwater with a sausage in me ear and get full enjoyment out of it - my brain fills in the blanks nicely). Crowd nocise and that live feeling is very imprtant to me. Nobody seemed to like "Alive in Japan" cept me!

oh... and the lightshow was incredible. Really clever use of dry ice - i never saw so much - and the whiteset strobes they could get. You ended up in a bleached out cloud bank just at the moments when the tracks were just reaching their most intensest. As the surroundings would come back into focus it was like you were brought back down to earth again only to be buffeted all over the pllace my the squarepusher sound. The vision was of TJ slapping the bass, bowing to the crowd, furiously wiping his brow and generally fucking loving his own music. A true performer. Sweet jesus - what a show.
