I was unfortunate enough to be eating a bowl of corn flakes
when I looked at this Japanese invention.

Behold, the human washing machine:

It looks funny, but group homes for the elderly and disabled
as well as hospitals would probably kill to get this.

If I were that old lady I'd rather risk it in the machine
than have that chap sweep my chimney.

i nearly lost it when i saw the wheels attached to the
sides. it's a mobile human washing machine. it just couldn't
get any better than that.

hahahaha... seems like a pretty laid back hospital... the
dude's wearing open toed sandals. hehehe. Now my question
is, does this thing have like a pan or a runoff or something
so you can just piss and shit right in it? Also can it feed
you while you are piloting it? If it can't, then it still
needs work.

I actually read a newspaper article months ago regarding
these super machines. It said that the elderly of Japan much
prefer these bathing units to being washed by foreign
doctors (orderlies?). Just goes to show you the great
lengths they go to to avoid any contact with gaijin.

am i the only one who doesn't see the resemblance this
picture has to some anime film a couple years back. the
movie was about hygenic machines created to take care of the
sick and elderly. i forgot what the title of the movie was
but it dealt with machines taking over the nurses job. the
movie was pretty much had an underlying principle of machine
vs. humanity where we should draw the line as to show that
machines aren't capable of the essential care and nurture
that nurses provide to their elderly patients. i forgot the
name of the movies i think it was by the same people who
made Akira. i'm sure someone has had to seen that movie. i
loved it, seeing as i'm working towards my bachelors as
nursing supervisor. awesome movie i would recommend it if i
knew the name of it. maybe someone can point out which movie
i'm talking about after reading this!
