RDJ album review from amazon

nacmat from spain on 2002-01-17 00:20 [#00071008]

look what some people think about cds we love... aint it
strange? i guess contrast is what makes the world go round:

(review of the RDJ album, from amazon)
The best frisbee in my CD collection., March 1, 2001
Reviewer: kidamadeus (see more about me) from Warner-Robins,
Georgia United States
As an electronic musician, audiophile, and as a fan of all
types of music, I can say without a doubt that this is one
of the worst CD's I have ever had the displeasure to
purchase. My interests in music range from The Orb/Tangerine
Dream to Sex Pistols/Fear to Kid Rock/Residents to
Portishead/King Crimson to Stravinski/Zappa...in other
words, I like almost everything. There is absolutely nothing
redeeming about this recording. As for this CD being complex
(as a previous review states), I couldn't disagree more. The
loops used in this recording are primative, uncreative, and
are tonally bad. Half of the CD sounds to me as if it were
recorded from an early $69.00 Casio keyboard. The drum
machine programming is inane, very monotinous, and has the
overall timbre of an angry goose in a tin box. As for this
recording being "ambient", sure it is...in the same way that
a neighbor mowing his lawn while you try to take a nap is
"ambient". I think if anything good can be said about this
mess, it is quite possible that this CD has invented a new
genre of music..."Annoying Ambient". I would give you mine
if I hadn't already traded it.

more reviews: (not that i support of course)
Modern day Mozart? Not even close!, December 9, 2000
Reviewer: A music fan from Denver
There are actually some intelligent techno/dance artists out
there but this is not one of them. Save your time and money
for something worth while!
Who the hell likes ambient!, February 22, 2000
Reviewer: John N. Marshall (see more about me) from Kuwait
This is junk. It just sits in my cd book saying "throw me
away."

unusual maybe...., July 21, 1999
Reviewer: A music fan from Los Angeles
Could somebody please explain me all that hype about Aphex
Twin! I like electronic music and I really do appreciate
bands like Leftfield, Underworld, Talvin Singh and such but
I could never understand what people like about Aphex Twins
music!? Am I deaf to his musical stroke of genius or is this
one of those 'Emperors-new-clothes-dynamics? Open to input.

mindless dribble, May 17, 1999
Reviewer: A music fan from Oregon
a child could have 'composed' this annoying crap. I dont
think it can be called music. It's like a branch scratching
on you window during a midnite storm whilst you're
attempting sleep. Annoying, nothing better.
even with this reviews the total rate was very high, but...
huhhh

I wont even take the time to read the whole thing, because
that is the way he see it.....I totally disagree with him,
the cunt who wrote that shite...
I think is one of his best one, and that cunt has to like
experimental/electronic music....He dont mention any group
who fill that description, ahaaaa...
We will see if he likes or dislikes electronic music...We
just have to look to other of his reviews and coming ones
and we will discover who he really is...
If he still do bad reviews for other electronic/experimental
artists, then he is a real cunt...Because nor his mind or
musical taste are ready for that kind of music.....RDJ is a
God!@!!

:)

I'm sure Boyband/Minogue etc. fans would be distraught with
my review of their shit - claiming I didn't 'adequately'
appreciate it or sum such .. such is the way of the world
[or commercialism as it may be]

Drukqs isn't his best, and that's a fact.

digidogheadlock from under a rock on 2002-01-17 02:35 [#00071063]

leftfield and underworld make my ears bleed...

i see nothing wrong w/ those afx reviews.. i can't expect
everyone to like the same shit as myself..

Prunar on 2002-01-17 02:38 [#00071064]

Underworld suck. Leftfield are pretenders too. Drukqs isn't
the best album Richard has done but his track record is
definately one of the best.

DubleOSyx from The East on 2002-01-17 06:54 [#00071108]

Does anyone remember the review rolling stone gave Drukqs?
They pretty much said it was shit. It might still be on
their website...

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-17 07:15 [#00071112]

i remember it well. RS are shit.

m...m...m on 2002-01-17 07:21 [#00071116]

If I was Richard, I would totally write a bad review for
myself like that under a different name... heh heh.

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneappleseed on 2002-01-17 07:21 [#00071117]

It makes perfect sense accoarding to their music tastes.
Some descent stuff, some really dated stuff that hasn't
(imo) stood the test of time, and then Kid Rock. Enough
said. I would never expect somebody with this musical taste
to feel the RDJ Album.

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneappleseed on 2002-01-17 07:23 [#00071118]

and who ever said that rdj album was ambient?

nacmat from spain on 2002-01-17 10:03 [#00071158]

many of you seem to think that the reviews are about drucks
but they are about rdj album
