Peasant's Quest will likely win the award as best Videlectrix game ever, though its predecessor Trogdor! isn't far behind.
As for VALVe and id Software, they will both still receive money from me this year, but Videlectrix products remind fans of the days of early adventure games. Such vintage PC products are hard to come by these days.

I'll be shocked if Halo 2 doesn't clean house, sales and fun-wise. The multi-player demonstrations looked irresponsibly hilarious. Once I get on Live with that, I'll never be logging off it.
Halo, Doom, Half Life, those are the big three... but they're pretty much just more of the same, on E-'roids. The game I most want to snuggle with is Metal Gear Solid 3... stealth survival in a jungle... sounds and looks too good to be true. And Williams/Hibino are unstoppable, the trailor theme and the sneaking music sound flawless.
Scare-wise, Silent Hill 4 is going to own. The trailer makes me shiver (the fucking baby-monster, fuck!) and the soundtrack is guaranteed to be in a league of its own. Resident Evil 4 looks good, too... but I'm skeptical about that one. Looks way prettier than S-Hill, but doesn't look particularly scary... RE games have always lacked that certain ambience.
Fable, Devil May Cry 3, God of War, Ratchet and Clank 3, Jak 3, Sly Cooper 2, Metroid Echoes, Ghost, Sudeki, Metal Gear Acid, Killzone, a few new Shining Force games, FC Instincts, FFXII... crazy times ahead.
