New IDM?

I always considered myself on the cutting edge of the IDM
scene. Lately I've slacked off, I actually haven't picked
up anything remotely IDMish since Squarepusher's
Ultravisitor. What is everyone else listening to?
I've been listening to Confield, Gantz Graf and Draft 7.30
over and over for a few years now. Autechre's extremely
glitchy but beautiful music has just whet my appetite for
more of this style. The only thing I'm waiting for in terms
of IDM now is the new Venetian Snares - Huge Chrome Cylinder
Box Unfolding. Am I missing any other artists with a similar
style?
Basically I'm asking, what have the big names been up to
recently (Aphex, BOC, Autechre)? I need to hear more soon
or I may lose interest entirely.

if you're going to lose interest, then just stop listening
to it.

I don't think that I would totally lose interest, but
Confield blew me away when it came out in 2001 and it's
never left my discman. I just want to hear something
totally mind blowing like that again.

if you're looking for something mindblowing in the way that
Confield was mindblowing (as in an album that changes how
you think about music), you may have to look into things a
little more experimental than the big artists of idm... if
you are just looking for something that sounds like
autechre... well there's a handful of idm artists who are
probably at a similar level of textural and compositional
quality...

IDM is over! It's all about R'N'B... R'N'B like Britney
Spears makes it!

I forgot to say
MERCK 025 = a Confield / Draft 7:30 clone (very good one)
MERCK 026 = a little bit a BoC clone, very ambient
MERCK 028 = old Autechre (LP5 period) combined with some
hiphop beats

check out some samples

out there...not necessarily idm though...

Except of course for the 13 box set of acid flavoured vinyl
only AFX releases that we hear so much about.

I haven't been listening to too much IDM lately... it goes
in cycles for me. I'm sure I'll be back in the loop in a
month or two. Best new-ish stuff I've heard recently was
from FZV (exceptional AE ripoff!), Tape, o9, and Differnet.
Haven't heard any new releases from the last month or two,
though... been rocking too hard lately.

Im sure that there will still be A LOT of new stuff comming
out in this (IDM) sector...

(But damn dudes and dudettes... Music "genres" shouldn't
exist) hé hé :)
