[Ridley Scott] Alien

just watched this for this on Ch 5 for the first time in
ages.

I am stating the obvious when saying this but its an
absolute masterpiece. Cinematography/Special Effects/Musical
Score/ The Cast/Script, absolutley first class.

Easily one of the most inspirational sci fi horror movie of
all time, i would have loved to have seen this at the cinema
when this was released in the 70's. The film still scares
the shit out of me.

The alien costume is easily the best out of the series.

An absolute gem of a story.

Its just a damn shame this went on to spawn the likes of
Alien vs Predator.

I like Alien and Aliens. The third one didn't grab me like
the other two.

my parents said when they went to see it at the initial
release, the theatre had installed some new sound system for
the improved sound in the movie, and they were having
problems, making it completely silent for the first 10
minutes or so. I imagine that would have made it even
better.

The first movie is so good ´cause H.R.Giger was working
close with Ridley Scott, I didn´t like the third movie that
much it had alot of prodution problems, like for example the
original script being dumped and the new director which had
no powers or opinion what so ever.

I was disappointed that when Denver comes face to face with
the alien in the ducts or whatever the hell they were, it
looks like it's offering him a hug. Apart from that it's
quite very good, yes.

..and Sam would have a retractable inner-mouth that he liked
to plunge right through Frodo's skull deep into his soft,
mushy brain..

anyways-

one of my favourite films of all time, Aliens used to be my
favourite but as i've got more and more into films Alien is
easily the best for lots of reasons, Its a shame Ridley
Scott is wasting his talent these days.

I just watched the special edition Aliens the other day, and
as usual, it was fucking riveting. It's tough on the
cardio.

But I always liked Alien more... the style, the ambience,
the direction, everything.
