I just adore these lo-fi maestroes -- they are my favourite
band from the 1990s - their first two albums, Slanted &
Enchanted and Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, are just so
fantastic and infectious! If you have never heard them, then
jump aboard their musical locomotive!

TOTALLY ruined the satire.

your pavement picture has crooked rain in it, so i can see
how this would create mass havic to some

*basically listen to Godflesh (as stated above)

pavement was the mid 90's alternative college band (weak)

yes: lets rock down to the practise room, attention and
fame, a career carea carea korea!

early pavements is the sweetest.
the malkmus and the jiks albums aint too bad either.

There is an awsome pavement dvd out. I think what makes them
is there lo-fi slop accomplisement coupled with a sharp
intelligence and humour and a slack assed goofball angel
nerd approach.

They weren't a fucking college band - they appeal to
dropouts, not college dicks.

i remember watching alternative nation on mtv in the early
90's and pavement was beggining or so...

they are an independant band (who sure, apeal to dropouts,
but they would be no where w/out thier college kids support
(back then), now whether the "college dicks" (as you call
them) like pavement today, im not sure of that

ecnadniarb ---------------Stop living in the present.

I don't live in the present my dear Thadius...I live 27
seconds in the future, I had this confirmed by someone who
lives 33 seconds in the past because he realised i was a
minute ahead of his life.

man, I haven't heard pavement in a really long time, but I
loved them back in the day! I wonder if I would still like
them as much now... I should check them out again.

yes, all you have to do is this

1) take two eggs directly from a chicken.
2) sacrifice the eggs to a cow in a field near where you
live.
3) take the cow home, marry it and be a good husband.

that's what I did.

if you love pavement
and pavement appeal to "dropouts"
are you saying that you are a dropout?

if so.. what the fuck is a dropout? how do you get to
be one? do you decide yourself, or do you have to apply for
dropout status? are you proud of being a dropout? isn't
being a dropout just some kind of inverse snobbery? doesn't
it just amount to considering yourself a part of some
under-dog in-crowd?

just curious.

frontwards

I am the only one,
Searching for you,
And if I get caught,
Then the search is through
And the stories you hear,
You know they never add up
I hear the natives fussin'
At the data chart,
Be quiet
The weather's on the night news...

Antique homes,
Plastic cones,
Stolen rims
Are they alloy or chrome?
Well I've got style,
Miles and miles,
So much style
That it's wasted,
So much style
That it's wasted
So much style
That its waste---------ed
She's the only one,
Who always inhales
Paris is stale
And it's war if we fail

And in the migrant hotels,
They never sleep,
They never will
Their souls are crumbling
Like a dirt clod
Hold, your cigarette cuts
To the inside

Antique homes,
Plastic cones,
Stolen rims,
Are they alloy or chrome?
Well I've got style,
Miles and miles
So much style
That it's leavin'
It's pattern's torn
And we're weavin'
This battle's torn
And we're weavin'

Malkmus is good, with or without the 'Ment. I prefer the
later albums and the slightly more polished sound, though.
It's all about Terror Twilight, for me.

I cannot stop listening to Wowee Zowee at the moment -
tracks 11 - 18 are just so fantastic!! Like the 2nd half of
Abbey Road. And, of course, track 1, "we dance" is deeply
moving and grooving!
