I think it is because they are added outboard blocking to
the firewall and some other junk. It's odd to see microsoft
seemingly taking their time over something though.

I was going to but I decided against it and installed 2003
server pro instead on my spare machina.

the fact that it's taking a while isn't really all that
surprising. the way microsoft ties all of it's products
together and all, they've got an awefull lot of bases to
cover. especially since this is such a huge update.

massive companies upgrading to find out that all of a sudden
they can't share their powerpoint presentations on the local
intranet anymore = disaster.

I just think with the fact they are spending an extra 6-8
weeks on the service pack leads me to beleive the the RC
should possibly be back to beta status. I'll just hang on
for the final release I think.

i sometimes think microsoft sets release dates that they
have no real expectation of meeting just so people will hold
on longer. saying something like -oh well, it's only
another 6 weeks, that's not bad-

A friend has, he said he has put it on 5 different PCs of
varying specs, and has had no problems so far.

He gave me the CD, but now I'm a bit reluctant

Well it's installed on this computer and I have the crack to
do it if anyone wants it :)

This is a beta release by the way. Very good though.

A lot of the problems are to do with the new V5 of the
Windows Update.
