so i cant divide the counts into more segments, right? i
can screw around in the general settings but that only adds
or substracts

what to do then?

turn of the snapping. the little window that say 'line" with
the word snap written under it. set it to "none" now you can
click where ever you want to

it still makes it hard experimenting with patterns going
against eachother
unless i just wave one

what are some tricks to make the wave's keep running
smoothly without hearing the last one end? reverb? (it isnt
just max polyphony)

click on a sample in our pattern and then turn the "crf"
knob.
with that you can your loop point.

sjees, I can't type
I mean Click on a sample in your pattern and then turn the

adjust your loop point.

Also to stretch a wav you can use the "fit" field in the
channel settings of a granulizer or sampler to stretch the
sound to fit any number of steps. You'll get better results
stretching the wav in Kontakt or one of the Reaktor sampling
instruments though.

About your desire for short notes - for a drill effect, in
the piano roll make one long note then go ctrl-U and set the
chopper for tiny slices. Then you can drag the sliced bits
around, draw velocity, cutoff and pan changes underneath -
cliche but fun. Usually though I just draw in the piano roll
with the snap at 1/2 step or 1/4 step which is plenty of
resolution for my liking.

hehe, that ctr+u looks like fun

actually i still have to use my first sample in a track, it
was that i rendered a track to wave to write an extra part
and then i heard that wave ending.it wasnt really a case of
wrong starting point, it was because it was a whole track
with reverb and all, you heard a gltich in the continuence
of the sound

tnx

maybe the point of putting reverb and compression on the
master is then gone a bit. but i especially wanted to do
that to not put them on every damn track

it is better to apply reverb and/or compression on each
individual track. or so I have heard.

yeah i heard that too, and on the mastertrack is only for
advanced mastering or so. but if you have lots of track..
and tiny stuff u use only once (you made me do that u)

i didn't read the whole thread but the way i get around
fruity loops problems is to not use it much at all.
Instead, i use f-loops just to make simple melodies and drum
loops then i export all the waves and manipulate them in a
loop sequencer. i previously used Acid Pro which is really
easy to pirate and easy to figure out. Now i use Ableton
Live which is fucking awsome and also pretty intuitive.
don't know if it's easy to pirate though, i got my copy from
a friend that works at an accordian store.
