This is actually a bump.

I totally failed to grab most people's attention with my
the original topic, people didn't even respond to why (I did
ask!). (though thanks to Krelian and Scheme88, [and
hyakusen+elusive] for replying :)

Please download the mix + give feedback + discuss mainstream
IDM.
The mix is in a way like a battle between mainstream pop and
electronic music/noise.

SAVE AS

See old topic for more info, if needed, or just ask.

peace all topic-title-lovers

so, nice romantic song, and it makes me want to check some
britney tunes. perhaps it could be a bit more
dynamic...perhaps not...or maybe you could increase volume
of her voice...huh, lets see what others have to say :)
i say it's pretty nice!!

I like stuff like this, that mixes the familiar with the
alien -- that sort of juxtaposition that some people find
unredeemable, but quite frankly, I enjoy.

the distortion needs to be structured, it sounds as you just
played with all your buttons.

if you don't add to the song (a different rythm, say) there
is no point in taking away

"if you don't add to the song (a different rythm, say) there

That's very sage!

Hm... Did you mean the distortion was too simple or that it
was too complex (e.g. not structured, just randomly
triggered)?

i guess it's seemingly random, right?

offline Key_Secret from Sverige (Sweden) on 2004-07-10 07:53 [#01272363]

But it isn't (the effects are triggered according to the
beat of the original track)...
At one time in the track it seems a bit off-rhythm, but
that's cause the (original) song actually changes rhythm at
that point.

offline Key_Secret from Sverige (Sweden) on 2004-07-10 07:55 [#01272366]

though what effects are triggered, or what I do with
each segment, is what I feel like. And not really based on
anything else (except, what I did with the segment just
before that, and so on).

it's done manually... I just did this with a wave-editing
program.

offline Cheffe1979 from fuck (Austria) on 2004-07-10 08:41 [#01272402]
Points: 4630 Status: Lurker | Followup to Key_Secret: #01272306

it was too complex, i could not hear any structure above a
scale of a few seconds, neither of the original track, which
is a good thing i guess, nor has been added much.

the distortions themselves do sound really good though, what
i critizized was rather a lack of soul.

offline Key_Secret from Sverige (Sweden) on 2004-07-10 08:47 [#01272405]

yeah... the (original) track changes tempo/BPM then, and
since I disted the second just before (which slows down the
tempo a bit in the original track) it becomes a bit of a
mess at that certain point, so I agree with you. Thanks for
listening + commenting!
