Ha ha, well said.

I am toying with the idea of getting an expensive big
motorbike in the new year. It won't make me "poor", but I'll
be fairly hard up. My worst fear would be to get it and
write it off before I had paid it off (I'd only be able to
get 3rd party fire and theft insurance on it- fully comp is
obscenely expensive).

Isn't there "benefit" in Germany? I lived on less than the
rate of benefit (aside from rent) a lot of the time when I
was a student.

besides that...i'm a lazy bastard.

I'm actually impoverished according to my Government. I just
got a special tax credit of 56 dollars because I am
officially poor. Weeee!

Monoid,

it will only make you stronger in the long run.

Just play your cards right....don't stress yourself too bad
(easy to say, hard to do i know i know i know).

Give it a few days to settle in and try to allow yourself to
do something fun that day when it really kicks in....if it
hasn't already.

I'm in the same boat - I am about to (finally) graduate
from college at the age of 26 with a Masters of Art in
Philosophy in a month after I pass my third semester of
Spanish. I've recently been down to the Career Services
Office and taken personality tests and Career Interest
Tests. I'm so fucked, everything I'm interested in I'm not
qualified (at all) to do (such as musician, artist,
architect). I want to shoot myself in the head.

Hey, I'm not what you call a "worker". I'm a fucking bum.
Ever read that paper called "The Abolition of Work"? I
basically agree with the concept of that 100% I want to win
100 Billion dollars in the lottery and spend my life doing
what I REALLY want to do. I just don't want to have a job
that I dread going to everyday. (I've had those)

Is that in the U.S.? Nevr heard of it. My mother and my bro
are teachers.., I couldn't take highschool or below. Two of
my brother's students MURDERED another student in the middle
of a field at night with a knife. That's seriously fucked
up.

er 'teachers' college' is just a general term for getting
whatever degree you need to qualify you to teach. i think
highschool would be okay, but i'm probably deluded.

I was poor for 3 years studying, this year I'm poor because
I lose the money I earn on paying off debts, and I expect to
be poor for the next 4 years doing a graduate-entry degree.
By 2008 I will be approximately £35,000-£40,000 in debt. I
take some consolation from the fact that I will be a doctor
at the end of it. ^_^

i'm afraid of losing job. The salary is funnie for europe
but here it affords food at least, paying some rent for the
flat I share, and i can even put some money aside for
serious needs.. I buy nothing except food, and cheap clothes
- very seldom.

It does suck being poor... especially when you have
expensive hobbies. Just tough it out, and quit the fucking
drugs 'till you can get back in the game.

I'm unemployed, and I plan on being so all summer, my
idiotic choice... it's going to be the best summer ever...
this is bad for my future, but I never worry about that.
