Ok, I have some money and I want to purchase a new album.
Basically, what would you electronic geeks recommend that I
buy? Keeping in mind that I hate vsnares. Also whilst we're
on the topic, are there any IDM compilations I can buy? I
would probably prefer that because then I could get a bit of
variety and more tracks for my money :-)

I made mine up, so no sorry.

But try Artificial Intelligence or The Remixes Double Album
(on Warp) I think you should be able to get it at HMV

I was in the market for some new music a few days ago and i
must say i hit the fucking jackpot between recomendations
from this board and a guy working at my local record shop-
however, only one of the records i ended up with is
"electronic". I recommend:

Hella - "Total Bugs Bunny on Wild Bass" (EP) Crazy crazy
frantic shit from two guys; one on drums and the other on
guitar and programming. This is exciting stuff.

Animal Collective - "Sung Tongs" Hugely inventive and trippy
neo-psychedelica/folk/DMT laptop hallucinations. So fucking
great it's unbelievable.

Notwist - "Neon Golden" Poppy, catchy electro. Good record.

My suggestion:

Anthony Rother - Hacker
It's good, german i think. And well worth owning.
