i stopped at borders books during my lunch break today just to look around. while in the media section, i stumbled (almost literally) upon a copy of abb3 from '97. sure it's the reissue, but it's the reissue before the 2002 re-reissue. paid my $17 (gladly) and walked out a happy man!
i mean, how often do you find something like that at borders???
let's hear your stories. i'm sure they're better.

I found Kylies coffee table book for $20.
Although it is difficult to read with one hand due to it's size.
Chris Cunningham does a nice illustration in there if you like that sort of thing

I found a copy of Mandrake Linux 8.0 on sale in the local supermarket recently. Those of you familiar with the Co-op here in the UK will know how bizarre that is.

I found Chiastic Slide at a used CD store a couple of years ago... even weirder, the fat, balding bespectacled guy there knew who they were and we had a nice chat about them.
It's impossible to find any IDM other than the Richard D. James album around here, unless you look at the little mom and pop places. And even then, you might find Drukqs or Music has the Right to Children, nothing more obscure.

i had a dream once about queing up to get into a big black plasticy record store in the city. Once inside it was jam packed with people everywhere and i went and found the autechre section and there was about 100 different volumes of ae release all in silver white and bone coloured packages. I picked out about 6 silver albums and a couple of exclusive looking white-transparent cdees.
