I have nothing to do at work for the next few days........
if people have tracks they want listened to, post here and
i'll tell you what I think about them..... i'm on dial-up
only, so the shorter the track the
better....................please save me from this boredom
:)

dud...... no problems mate, it just might take some time for
me to download........

First impressions: Excellent production, even though i'm
listening through shit speakers, you've got good beats with
variation (thats my "THING"...... hate boring
beats)..........a little more variation before the four
minute mark in overall sound might help it, but the
deconstruction at 5 minutes is excellent, with a change in
auristic sounds and a loss of the "thump" (hope you
follow).........the kick in again just before 8 minutes
works well, but to break again before building up to then
end.... not too sure about that...but the fade out right at
the end is excellent

Overall, I really liked it...... i've probably pulled it
apart a little more than it deserved, just because i have
the time to listen to it in detail...............

Great Danes are for girls: this is my type of gear!........
i liked the general "fucked-up" nature of it, mad beats and
noises............i felt it looses something when the synth
pad comes in, changes completely, but at 2:34 in length you
can get away with that............ maybe just make the pad a
bit more interesting............. short and interesting,
like an ex-girlfriend ;)

I haven't been able to put any new music up. This stuff is
dated around March I think, but here they are:

An Opening Between My Legs, Nintendodiary, and Chibimaru.

Whatcha think of 'em!?!?

Thanks, I've got a handful of similar songs on my computer,
I just don't have a way to get them on the internet right
now. When I do I'll post them up on xltronic, for all my

Oh, and check out my roommate's stuff:

Back to work ;)

Matvey - Bjork: This is a much simpler track, little
variation, sounds acoustic......... but I like it........ no
rules........ is it you, or your "band"?..... the whistling
is a nice touch........quirky, off-tune...........

offline brokephones from Londontario on 2004-07-06 17:34 [#01268257]

You can find a little collection of tracks on

right.

Matvey - Warm Shit (zo meexie) - ummmm, I liked your other
track HEAPS more............ the "signature" of this piece
is ok, but apart from the mix in/ breakdown at 1:30, there's
not enough variation in melody or beats, and the synth
sounds and drum sounds are a little "normal", and don't
really change enough....... and the levels were a bit all
over the shop..........give memore of the fucked about "rock
head gone wrong" of "bjork" ,I say........

Wimps up next...

offline darkpromenade from Australia on 2004-07-06 18:51 [#01268477]

Wimp - an opening between my legs - cool programming! nice
work......... cut up beats, short and long breaks, well
treated vocal, variation coming out of it's arse! Team
Doyobi'esque...............this is good.... again, wish i
had better speakers to catch the subtleties............

I liked a bit of clics but the rest is dire! 0 emotion.
It's either cerebral, emotional or funk. It's either
backwards priorities or you need a little more time to think
about what you want to convey

Yeah I got that at the time and was gutted because I had
just made it because I liked the sound of it and I yet again
came across as a substandard ae ripoff :(

Thanks for listening though :)

Nobsmuggler - hummer something: i don't know what to call
this......... the vocal caught me, obviously....... is it a
sample or original?...... the construction and variation
were sensitive to the feel of the track, and while it's
probably not my thing exactly, i think it's
quality.............wouldn't mind using it in a gig i've got
coming up, if you don't mind...............and Matvey, i'd
like to use "bjork" aswell..........if thats ok

The link to Abandoned Dwelling is dead, but the other ones
were nice. Quickies but goodies. I like your pads, and the
liquid bass on the Nas remix.

production, the blips keep running along, metallic sounds of
the beats are cool, spot on with the length, never bored me
or got hung up on one thing.......would love to here your
newer stuff sometime....

Yep, but not too much.

I am just checking your stuff out now, I only saw the link a
few minutes ago. Well I am actually downloading it for
keeps. I have listened to the first four and I like them
all. Especially Shelter. I will post more once I have had
a proper listen to them all. :)

marslander(commlostmix).mp3 - Just one last experimental thing I have on

soundscaping.
