You can't really choose your mental state directly whereas you can choose your general attitude. I'll try and think of a better answer to this. |

haha good stab, i certainly can't answer it. it's an intractable. i would say that you can't choose your general attitude either; if you're abused as a child your general attitude towards the world is going to be somewhat skewed. similarly if you inherit a propensity towards depressive tendencies. but then i'm a determinist, and a bit of a soppy liberal because of it ;) |
