There is nothing more reassuring than self righteous
americans -- obviously nazi scientists weren't the only
imports after the second world war.

I was laid-off 3 times during Bush's presidency.

3 years in a row, i lost my job due to Loss of funding,
Company buy-out, and downsizing.

all during Bush's term.

my wife has been un-employed for almost 2 years during the
Bush presidency.

I am getting sick of all the anti Bush sentiment here. He
is no better or worse than any President who has came before
him, and he had a lot more to deal with than those who came
before him.

The liberals would have the towel heads running the White
House. In times of war you NEED to have a strong leader.
Bush is a strong leader.

So youre saying a strong president is one who thinks war
instead or going after the real problem of one person like
thousands of others....

If he hadn't have taken the action he has taken he would
have been declared weak. And if you beleive the capture of
bin Laden would stop terrorism you are completely wrong.
Oil is running out in the US, and you need to control more,
that is simple economics. Through his actions he has
secured a foothold in the most oil rich region on earth...he
is looking after the US's long term interests and power.

And now look we have less oil, and no bin laden.

ummm...you have more oil and the capture of bin laden would
be nothing more than a symbolic token.

the war was started by the so-called STRONG leader.

Bush is not a strong leader. he's a weak puppet controlled
by a STRONG government.

He didn't start the war...the war began a long time before
he ever took the presidency. Whether or not your beleive he
is a strong leader or not there is a strong government at
work, for the good of the American people.

no, I don't believe it is for "the good of the american
people".

I believe it to be for the good off the highest eschelon of
the American people.

he should not be there - he was not chosen by the American
people.

He's there for the 'people that matter'...in exactly the
same way every leader who is in power is. There is nothing
unique in his power hungry ways, all world leaders are the
same...as yet I haven't seen one reasonable arguement, from
a US point of view, that would lead me to think that Bush
has done a bad job.

evolume,

your statement is .... weak, unless you provide the job area
you are in?

For example: if you are a IT worker ... well I don't think
you can blame Bush for that, now can you???

Please do explain, because you could be extremely lazy and
not very hard worker and still blame it on Bush (not calling
you that, but hope you see my point and clarify)

thanks

elusive you made a good point about people who choose to
blame their financial issues on a figurehead when the fault
lies within themselves. my friend only took one semester at
college then dropped out now he works at a factory putting
airplane pieces in a box. its a shame too because he is an
extremely intelligent individual but doesn't put forward
that energy into something productive like his education and
future. his political views you can imagine lean to the left
blaming a political figure simply because things haven't
worked out the way he planned. when infact its really his
fault upset with no one to blame but himself.

i am in biotechnology.
the first time i got laid off it was because the lab lost
funding and closed.

the second time i got laid off it was because the company
was bought out by a foreign company and they closed the
lab.

the third time i got laid off it was because the company i
worked for was downsizing. we produced a protein spray for
farming but nobody was buying it. they trimmed the staff
down from about 300 people when i started there to about 15
people when i finally got laid off. I was in R and D.

I was never laid off because i was lazy or something. just
becuase the companies i worked for were not financially
successful for whatever reason.

I wasn't placing blame on anyone. only stating that all
three lay-off's happened during Bush's term.

whoa...this is mad talk. crazy talk.

strong=warmonger
weak=dedicated to finding peaceful solutions to conflict

american liberals have decided these priorities need to be
re-evaluated.

Thanks for not getting defensive and staying civil, evolume.
I knew you wouldn't take my post the wrong way ;)

Sorry about that, btw. The tech industry is still very
unpredictable.

i realize biotech is quite unstable.
but 3 layoffs in 3 years,
that's gotta be some kind of record. who's to say whether
bush's economic policy is directly to blame? could have
conceivably happened under any president i know. i'm just
stating my personal experiences here. not really passing
judgement even though i think it's fun to point fingers at
Bush.

another interesting thing about my lay-offs,
each time it happened on the exact same day, May 15
3 years in a row.

i think that is because May 15 is near a fiscal quarter
end/beginning or something. anyway, this year i was on
vacation on may 15. last year too. and every year from now
on.

I agree.

You certainly have a right to force some of your negativity
on Bush for your recent hardships.

No denying that, sir.

I don't mind the naplaming, the geo-politics, the satanic
levels of capatilism and consumerism, the self-righteousness
and the shit film industry, it's the smugness that I would
call a holy war against.

"No better or worse" than any other president is not much of
a recommendation. How would you like this on your job
review? "No better or worse than any other employee." And
yet this guy's the fuckin' PRESIDENT. And yes, he is
demonstrably worse than most or all presidents before him.
