breaking news!

http://www.gmail-is-too-creepy.com

still, though. despite all that, it's not really a big deal
if it's just for personal use and you don't mind targeted
ads. besides...really, EVERY e-mail provider has similar
terms of use, and we're all being monitored all the time,
anyways. big deal.

I don't know what the big fucking deal about gmail is
anyhow, do you get a better quality of emails?

Fuck gmail, I am never writing to it, I will block it from
my inbox, in fact i should unplug this whole fucking DIRT
BOX of a laptop from the all invasive WEB, strewn with piss,
deceit and nobcheese.

you think hotmail or yahoo are any better? they all have the
same search and data mining capabilities.

i really never understand peoples complaints with internet
browsers, computers, email providers, internet providers, or
any of this computer junk.

here's a mind boggling picture from that article:

yes posting pictures out of context is always kind of
confusing, well done on figuring that out.

I think this another case of geeks overestimating how
important their "personal info" (or "life" for that matter)
is. What the fuck is the FBI going to do with 10000 billion
emails waffling on about Linux tweaks or how to fucking mod
your fucking video card so Bofmore's sweat in Legends of the
Twat looks more realistic? FUCK THEM ALL.

well, inbetween all the twattery, that could be some nice
info to create the idea that someone is a terrorist, for
example.

we're talking American government here.

I thought about this, and at the end of the day, if you're
on the internet, there's doubtless a justifiable reason to
put you in jail. These bastards only have themselves to
blame.

it's always a good idea to prrotect yourr perrsonal details.
therre arre many rreasons. most of them won't effect you in
any rreal way... until they do.

I don't care. It's 1GB of free space. I can't complain.

yeah, whats the big deal? Its the best online free e-mail
service by far and gives you LOTS of space, unless you have
something to hide i don't see what the problem is.

What do you need 1gb of space in your e-mail for anyways?
Do people use those things besides for registering for
things or using paypal/ebay?

1gb of space? Don't tell me you can e-mail music and pics
and stuff. Or is it just 1gb of text?

how can you not understand the hype? You can send huge
files, and store lots of big files in your e-mail... which
would be very nice...

I can anyway, but I have proper webhosting and email, not a
free service. I can understand why all that space might be
appealing to some people though. At the end of the day it's
pretty much just Hotmail with more space.

all the space I want, really.

well, for us who are stuck with the limitations of yahoo and
hotmail, it's a great thing...

offline sneakattack on 2004-06-23 04:20 [#01252134]

ok ok, me and my logic bat have arrived.

People haven't been using the accounts long--hence they are
nowhere near the 1 GB--hence that is not what is causing the
appeal. Part of it isn't retarded hype, but also the
interface is rather stunning. There hasn't been a new
development in mail clients basically ever, but this has
some novel ideas. Also, with the key bindings, it's actually
faster to use than my rather kick ass email client. It's of
course not a mover of mountains, but it is very impressive.

Is it open to the public yet? Or are you one of the lucky
"testers"?
