the first thought that came to my mind on first listening of new pan sonic album "kesto" was :
"man, these people are definitely not from planet earth, compared to this, autechres music sounds earthly!"
what do you think?

If you're into minimal, sparse dark ambient...definitely.
If you're into crunchy, industrial-strength techno...absolutely.
If you're into a combination of both...THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Defintely quality among the quantity...

i don't think it sounds more out-of-this-world than Autechre, but it definitely sounds great.
i don't know why, their music makes me think of... raw materials: stone, metal, plants (ok, plants are not a material), paper, water...

is being "out-of-this-world" - whatever that means - a sign of quality?

well, it depends on your taste, and on the specific kind of out-of-this-worldness involved...
it's like asking "is being puple a sign of quality?", i guess. : )
personally i like out-of-this-worldness (or just weirdness) as long as it can still match human emotions.

if its precisely arranged and crafted to create actual music, with emotions dedicated human brains can feel...then yea...
and panasonic is in imo the most emotional mechanic music

Heh, no. This is really standard sounding compared to Autechre. It's still pretty good though.

Autechre don't have random beats. Autechre's music is full of layers and precise microorganisation. Their rhythmologies are controlled chaos which is the most interesting thing for my brain. I don't see any frequency madness in pan sonic. All the frequencies they incorporate have been used during the 80's by groups like coil etc. They are too minimal even simplistic most of the times while autechre are the pinnacle of subtle evolution, complexity and micro rhythmical organising. THeir works are an artificial pseudo biological environment. You shouldn't assume that we haven't given pan sonic our full attention or that we're biased.

Pan Sonic would likely devour Autechre in a fight, although Autechre would survive inside of Pan Sonic's body and eventually start controlling it.
However, parts of the Pantechre would start to drop off and fizzle on the floor. Then somebody from Europe would sample the fizzling and become popular. Maybe I could find their CD in the States.

What the fuck? The whole 4 discs is like a beat with a distorted synth going "ssquuurhshhhsh" and making some semplance of 'angry' melodies.
