I've only bought an Prefuse EP. I'd probably buy more in the future (ep and lp) if I find out that the physical album has only a front/back artwork. I hate dropping $15 on an album that has only a single sleeve.

heheh. that curious? I must say I've never bought anything, and although curious, I probably won't until they offer something better than mp3s. like flacs or something. needs to be a tad cheaper too imo. £1 per track is just too much imo.

I bought Ultravisitor because it was cheaper than getting the CD. Also got the RDJ album - pure impulse buy. Don't think I'll be doing it again soon - maybe some rare stuff someday but I won't be making a habit of it. Too xpensive.
In gereal I prefer eMusic - 22 cents a track, Lame VBR mp3s, obviously no copy protection. Flac would be better but Lame VBR is so good the difference is marginal.

a 128kbps AAC is better quality than a 160kbps MP3
therefore 160kbps AAC's are my encoding standard for my personal library. and also they're not all DRM'd, only the ones you buy from the Apple Store are DRM'd

160k mp3s suck. VBR mp3s use as many bits per frame as the frame requires to faithfully encode that snippet of music - so they can range from as low as 64 bits to as high as 320 if there's lots of treble.

Yes...I admit it...I have a superglue fetish :(
You know when a street trader offers to sell you 20 little tubes on a blister pad for £1.50 and you just can't turn them down. YOU HAVE TO BUY IT.
Then you have to find uses for it. That is where my problems begin.

Well... I have quite a few tracks out of Bleep. But they are almost all hard to find tracks.. Like some good old AFX stuff. Otherwize, i baught tracks from albums that i lost a few times. Or albums on wich i only like a few tracks or so... Like Broadcast, or The Routine comp. And more... But i haven't spent much (yet). And if i will in the future.. It will only be hard to find stuff... (especially for me, as i live in "///////" and some stuff isn't as easy to find as in England... )... Or a track or two to see if the album is good or not...
My two last tracks that i baught were out of "Choose your own adventure" by Team Doyobi... amazing stuff... i'll definnetly order the album.

I tend to agree. I didn't think I was so old-fashined.. but the idea of paying for digital music downloads seems ridiculous to me, especially when hard-copies are available.
I don't particularly like music downloading at all, legal or otherwise. It cheapens the product. Even if it's out-of-print, I'd rather undertake the challenge of trying to track it down. I find artwork and packaging to be a crucial part.. in some cases inexorably linked to the music contained inside. It greatly influences the way I interpret the music, whether I like it or not. I guess I've just had 'the medium is the message' crammed down my throat one too many times.

i know that warp does everything they do to keep on releasing good music, that they respect their artists but i think that the bleep thing is really disapointing... they have lots of cds & 12" that should be re-released & the only thing they do, is to put them online & sell them at, almost, the same price of a cd. i feel like being cheated (i never use P2P)
think of black dog 2nd LP, Gescom keynell, AFX HAB & the lovely seefeel cds... its shame that it's not avaliable anymore.
of course i know that if they don't re-release those hard 2 find records its for $$$ reasons, not because their nasty. but it's still a pity.

yeah, spanners, bought it last month at amazon :) lovely cd, i'm sure a re-release on a 2cd set (bonus one with peel session, outakes, remixes or whatever ) could sell pretty well in 2004, but warp seems to seek for their future (lex, new artists) not their past & i respect that
