It could be a challenge, just make sure it isn't samey. Phillip glass becomes difficult to tell one piece from another alot of the time.

yer ive studied alot of classical music so ive got a rough grounding who knows i hope it will turn out good it will be hard doing it on the comp becuase u have to bare in mind the manner in which different instruments actually play so that it sounds convincing

I am not being facetious, honestly, I was just thinking, how would one, today, define classical music? Is it the instruments, or a way of composing, or, well what is it?

dog_belch: when most people refer to classical music, they mean "serious music", which is the super pretentious academic term for any non-20th century style of music basically. inside of the "serious music" label, there's baroque (bach, vivaldi, etc), classical (mozart, haydn), romantic (chopin) and some contemporary stuff like Glass and Reich. the word "classical" is kind of like the word "techno". it's a smaller genre than it really is, but people use the term to describe a massive and broad range of music.
anyway, i think what taffmonster means is anything relating to the old style of composition: writing scores, arranging for orchestra/chamber/solo instrumental, and having it performed.

Contempory music, written and then performed by a traditional orchestra?
The dictionary gives 'serious music ' as a synonym, hmmm.
