hmm.. what IS this? why did they re-release SAW85-92, and
why is that the one I got?

I know nothing.

Play It Again Sam records.

They seem to redistribute a lot of (relatively) olders CDs.

All my Pixies albums were redistributed by PIAS although
they still bore the 4AD logo.

I can only assume that your copy of SAW is similarly
redistributed; particularly because (like Aphex Twin's
Classics) it was originally released on a smaller, now
defunct, label.

Well are you lucky enough that the spine is facing the right
way? Mine is the DIST003CD release and it faces the wrong
way.

Why did my response confuse you so, Mister Mastah?

No, it's fairly standard practice in the record industry.

"spine?"
yes, spine.. you know what a spine is.

spine; the back part of the hinge (like the spine of a book)
that faces outward when you have it stacked on a rack or
shelf or whatever. says "AphexTwin" on that narrow surface.
Except it's facing the opposite direciton that CD's are
supposed to face.

the text on the spine of french books is usually the
opposite way round to that of english books.

is facing, but I bet it's the same as all the other ones...

yeah, and i was surprised that you didnt know.
if you have the front cover facing you, most spines read
from top to bottom down the left hand side.
but SAW reads from bottom to top.
Hence backwards.
The only way to get it to match the rest of your CD
collection (if you were so inclined) would be to turn the
box upside down on the shelf.

I haven't really looked at the spine, and I don't have the
CD with me to work today...
