sorry to burden the board with this, i am an amateur...

so i have a virus called Trojan horse Dialer.7.B i ran AVG,
and it seems that it was placed in the vault, however a
notice keeps coming up saying that it is detected in
Information\_restore{long-string-of-numbers-and-letters}\RP
"C:\System Volume 806\A0157694.exe"... now i've never even
heard of such a directory (system volume information), and
cannot find it anywhere on the computer... how might i go
about finding this/is it worth finding?
it's my understanding that AVG is not a trojan remover... is
it necessary to remove the trojan (and if so, what freeware
can you recommend?) or placing it in quarantine enough?
in the test logs of my latest virus scans, AVG notes about
15 different files that it could not open... is it likely
that these files are infected, and what is the safest way to
go about fixing this?

again, i'm sorry to be asking all this, but i haven't been
having too much luck sifting through google search
results...

whenever you find anything on yer box

its best to back up files
and format and redo from scratch

othrwise you might wake up in a cold sweat going

i dunno about how to properly clean it, but if AVG has the
files quarantined then i don't think the system will be able
to access the file, so you should be relatively safe until
you can track down a removal patch.

however, to find that file you could try this:

tools > folder options > [view tab]

and click show hidden files and folders

of course, that first path looks like a registry key... the
registry isn't really a set of folders, but you can get to
it by going to Start > Run > and typing regedit32.... but,
you don't really want to fuck around in the registry if you
don't know what you're doing.
