That sounds bad! But can you top this? We have, just a stone's throw away from our downtown district, a toxic lake, the result of decades of steel production. The Tar Ponds, Canada's worst toxic disaster area, maybe North America's. The cancer rates are the highest in North America here. Thank God I live on the opposite end of the city! |

Oh and on the subject of Chemical plants, we win. You know the opening shot of Bladerunner with those factory chimneys? All shot in Barry... about 2/3 square miles of chemical works, cement factory, power station, etc. And when I was growing up (although not because of me, and not anymore) it had the highest juvenile crime rate in Europe. |
