It was connected to electric outlet. Power dropped and some
nasty vertical green line appeared. It is not a virus.
Something is wrong with hardware. Is there anything I can
do? (before I go and buy a new monitor).

ooooooh man, i hate to break it to you, but repairing LCDs
is almost always more expensive than getting a new one. any
chance you have a warranty?

I can do all tasks, just that there is that line 1 pixel in
width across the screen. It appears as soon as I turn the
monitor on.

How long have you owned it for? Are you under warranty?

And even if worse comes to worse, at least you'll have
something cool to dissect or destroy. I love smashing up old
electronic equipment that I don't need.

I love this laptop... it is my 300MHZ child. :)

I will see tomorrow if I can find some spare parts.
I just wanted to ask you if you know what happened and if it
can be repaired somehow. (luckly, I got other people to ask
too)
