this is the new album. it's fucking good.

i don't think it sounds like anything they've ever done
before - totally new sound for skinny puppy. the artwork is
totally sick and great as well. anyone else hear it yet?

i was quite impressed with it.

it seems cevin is much more technically proficient with this
digital stuff than i had expected --- it's actually quite a
unique sound as well i think, nu-post-industrial? . eh.

The track structures are too traditional... too pop
oriented, although I do listen to the odd "ohGr" album now
and then. It is texturally rich I guess but at the bottom
it's too simple for my tastes. I really like ghostman
though. But probably because it's the most similar track to
the too dark park/last rights material.

yeah, i hear a lot of different types of music mixed into
it. lots of different sounds, old and new. very
interesting and cool how it all blends together.

i definitely think there's a strong ohGr element to some of
the tracks, but i mostly hear a lot of older skinny puppy.
too dark park was in it's own way kind of pop-y sounding.
process had these dancier elements and rock elements. i
think it sounds more sp than ohGr, but i see where you're
coming from for sure.

Yeah, this is some good shit. Best Puppy since The
Process... which is pretty understandable, I guess.

Really easy on the ears... the production is polished and
clean, but it's not pussified... the sounds are pretty much
what I'm used to from them and what I expected going in, but
I really like their timbre/frequency/scent here.

ophecks - isn't this the first album of new material since
the process?

don't you think that munchkin voice is kinda wack though?
i thought it was kinda wack.

haha... i thought it was weird for a second - it caught me
off guard the first time i heard it, but i'm pretty used to
that sort of shit. it's normal to me now. the thing that
always gets me is the woof woof enough part - that's a
really strange and funny way to end such a serious and dark
album. i like weird sounds in general.

i'm gonna take my digital camera to the show on the 12th.
if i get any sweet pics i'll post'em here.
