New to this board, looking for music suggestions

hiya People

I've been into electronic music for about 17 years but only
doing the boards for about a year.
Basically I want some suggestions for some good new (or old)
music to buy based on the following.

here are some of my favourite electronic albums ever (in a
rough order)

Plaid-Not for Threes
Arovane-Atol Scrap
Ambidextrous-Errorism
Namlook & HIA-SHADO 2
ISAN-Lucky Cat
Bola-Soup
Fizzarum-Monochrome Plural
Boards of Canada-Music has the right

I also love some more traditional band orientated stuff like
Air,Sigor Ros and Bark Psychosis and Germanic beautific
ambient stuff like Fax and Recycle or Die.

Basically if it's atmospheric, melodic and has cool sounds I
like it.
I've not bought any new music for a while cos I've lost
touch with the scene a bit, the last really good CD I bought
was Sense-Learning to Be which I love to bits.

Any Suggestions?

Tim Hecker - Everything
Oren Ambarchi - Suspention
Markus Guetner - In Moll
Nabukazu Takamora - Childs View, Scopes

Just some suggestions. Go to allmusic or amazon and type in
stuff you like already then research the recommened artists.
That's how I did it. Started with 2 or 3 albums. Up to about
300 now.

Well thanks for the suggestions people, keep em coming, some
of the stuff I know already but that's cool, it just
confirms that I'm on the right track with this board.

when you say "gay" do you mean in the homosexual sense or
the lame sense, either way I don't care, although it's not a
word I'd use to describe myself.

Oh! and I'll never be an Autechre fan, not since Incanabula
anyway, don't ask, it's a long story.

thousand things.

I had a feeling people would be reccomending me Autechre
stuff, it's not so much a problem with their music I have,
let's face it a lot of the stuff I listed is inspired by
them in some way, it's something else, something
unfortunately I'm not prepared to make public over an
internet forum, let's just leave it at that.

"future sound of london - lifeforms
susumu yokota - sakura"

> i definitely second these!! =)

maybe you may want to try telefon tel aviv - fahrenheit fair
enough, it's pretty nice and "exotic"-sounding.

about that Autechre thing... i've read interviews and they
didn't sound too sympathetic, pretty cold... have they done
something bad/acted like assholes? well, if you don't want
to talk about it i surely understand - anyway i have too
much Autechre (and Aphex Twin/AFX) releases already, i don't
listen to them that often, and i don't think i'll buy
another one again except maybe if it's very good and
very different.

oh, and by the way - welcome to this board soundguy! =)

I love Brian Eno and old school ambience a lot , the
distributor for his records used to be based at the end of
my street so I was able to get all his back cat and related
albums dirt cheap:)

Earthleakage, your lucky that's all he did.

i also recommend:

The Young Gods - Music For Artifical Clouds
The Young Gods - Heaven Deconstruction

you can listen to sound samples here, in the music
section. ( their other albums are great too but a totally
different style... ^^ )

have they done
something bad

you could say that, if any of you people get to meet me I'll
tell you but it doesn't seem right to post it on a forum.

Oh and I know FSOL-Lifeorms very well, one of the great
soundtracks to my Summer of 94.

Cim- Reference- for being laid back and crystal cool
Freescha- What's Come Inside You- for my favorite electronic
album that ever will or could be
Autechre- Chiastic Slide- for amazing
Vladislav Delay- Multilia- for something
Gridlock- Formless- for kicking ass, and taking names
Herrmann und Kleine- Our Sound- for pretty, mildly
bittersweet electronica
Eluvium- Lambent Material- for eerie ambient

give me time, I'm new to this board and I've made the
mistake in the past of spouting my mouth off and getting
into embarassing situations because of this, when I feel
more comfortable with who's actually using this board I
might tell, but not right now, watch this space.
