I'm thinking about buying some ae vinyls and wondering if it's worth sound-wise. Analog ones would be sweet, I suppose but what about computery ones from ep7 onwards?
-- Got my handy trax yesterday. It has been years that I didn't use decks (handy trax was cheaper than buying stylus for it)
and Wow, some records sounded so sweet!! esp electronic ones like kraftwerk - expo2000 fraincois k. mix and depeche mode - oil tank mix.

Go to all the charity shops you find and buy anything that looks good, and a few that don't
I have found some gems recently: LFO - LFO 7" The Jamms - Its grim up north Stakker - Humanoid

Yeah, I got an awesome haul of 45s for £5. 35+ records, so great stuff, Coldcut - Doctorin' the House, lots of 70s funk, Eddie Grant - Frontline, Mantronix, etc.
One of my mates who likes 80s rock has just bought a turntable purely so he can get old cure albums for 30p at jumble sales etc.

Only thing I don't like about them is how skippy most 7" are and how hard it is to manipulate the vinyl compared to 12" I can see why 12" became so popular for dance music (as well as track length).

Thing is, buying a single record like those in decent condition, you'd be able to buy 20-40 from a car boot sale/charity shop. Sure, some will be too scratched, some you take a chance on will be poor, etc. but you can get large quantites of quality records that way :)
