a year or two ago, someone on this board recommended me a
few sonic youth tracks. i've been relistening to them
(disconnection notice, empty page) and would like to hear
more.

what should i get next song-wise?

Buy all their albums and stuff, please.

Or get Disappearer, NYC Ghosts&Flowers,
Theresa's Sound World. And everything else.

get an album! =)

...well, some other tracks i love:
The Diamond Sea
100%
Becuz
Shadow Of A Doubt
Wish Fulfillment
Hits Of Sunshine
Radical Adults Lick Godhead Style
Theresa's Sound World

(ok, i only have five albums so far, Evol, Dirty, Washing
Machine, A Thousand Leaves and Murray Street. + a few EPs
and "side-projects".)

their new album will be released on June 6th or 8th or 7th
or 5th or 9th also (don't remember the exact date), and it's
probably going to be great judging from the tracks i've
heard ("I Love You Golden Blue", get this one as well). also
it will be called Sonic Nurse. but like Murray Street, it
will be soothing and calm unlike some older releases. i'd
recommend Dirty for a first album, from the ones i know.

Cortex, you 2 songs you've got are from the album "murray
street".... GET IT!! it's amazing.

I've only got that, daydream nation and Washing Machine...
got a constant list of "need to buys!"

Washing Machine is a great album!

Daydream Nation gets my vote. They have a new album out
"nurse" that sounds exactly like their old stuff, but thats
not a bad thing I guess.

Never heard the Ciccone Youth album, but its a cool name ;)

Yes next to hard as nails rockers for life like yourself
they are a bit lame.

sonic youth are my favourite band
i listen to them since i was 15 and i'll never get tired of
them
their best stuff is the 80's stuff
-confusion is sex(very no wave, their noisest)
-bad moon rising(a sort of medley,a simphonic poem for
dissonant electric guitars...i love it)
evol, sister and daydream are also very very good
of the 90's my favourite is washing machine

found that link from their site. it has clips of all the
tracks from their new album. sounds great - i think i like
it more than murray street, and i really like that album.

''Cross the Breeze'' is my favorite Sonic Youth track, from
my favorite Sonic Youth album. Kim sounds absolutely
delicious on that one. Like a minks.

i've got all the sonic youth albums.

my personal favorites: evol, bad moon rising, dirty,
experimental jet set, washing machine.

i once skipped nearly a day's worth of classes back in high
school to listen to daydream nation and sister, then
daydream again.

Perfect slacking music.

I saw them live years ago, they were amazing, Thurston had a
whole rack of guitars which he went through at about 1 a
song, de-tuning and fucking with them as he went along.

I saw Sonic Youth sometime between NYC Ghosts and Flowers
and Rather Ripped, don't remember what tour exactly.

Dirty is a brilliant album though it was the first one I
really got into.
