Umm... listened to a track from the new chemical brothers album ("come with us") entitled "my elastic eye" and they've sampled like half of Nannou! Bastards! I guess its ok to sample other artists (hey I guess AT has done it too, and I would'nt expect anything else from the chem bros) but I think they really did cross the line this time!! |

the most unoriginal samplings of afx have been placebo (sampling "i would like to fuck you up the bunghole" etc.) and frontline assembly (who are awful with or w/o their boring samples). the chems track w/ the mazzy star singer (hope sandoval) is called "asleep from day" and it's off their surrender album. very good song. |

Well I have the newest Groove Armada cd, and I really like it... I think I'd like Chemical Brothers if I bought one of their cds... this cd by Groove Armada is not my favorite, nor do I think it ever will be, but I do find it enjoyable... |

I like Moby and The Chemical Bros. as much as i like IDM. In fact, if it weren't for those two (and maybe the Prodigy) I probably never heard of Aphex twin and the likes... Since Moby and the Chemical Bros. are so different from Aphex and from each other there's difficult comparing with each other... It's like comparing them to Rammstein or something (which I also like)... Just because you listen to a genre few people heard of doesn't mean all the stuff other people know about are shit. I think I can say I listen to quite a lot of different styles of music (from KoRn to Avalanches, from Stabbing Westward to Incubus, from Aphex Twin to Johan, from Clint Mansell to Kraftwerk, and so on) so I think I have the right to have an opinion about this topic... It is true that the Chemical Bros. haven't got as many different styles as Aphex Twin, but doesn't squarepusher has the same problem? I have al the aphex, squarepusher and chemical bros. cd's and as far as I can see only aphex twin's music changes from record to record... The last Chem. Bros. cd was a let down, because it was so uninspired (in my opinion) but I keep hope that the next will be better... But then again, Drukqs was also uninspired, it featured no new things what so ever, and according to you guys from now on Aphex Twin sucks ass, because his last effort was a let down. I'm still a great fan of the CB and AT because they both have put out some great albums. So when you haven't heard stuff from the CB you can't judge about their stuff by saying they suck, just because they get aired by radio and tv... And by the way, that thing about that the CB suck because they work with Eve: didn't AT say he wanted to have a Madonna sample on his record?? I rest my case. **Laffe Hoer** |

when did i put down the chems for getting eve to sing on one of their tracks? i was being sincere in saying i wanted an mp3 of it. eve is ok - not a favorite but she's spit some nice verses. the chems are ok half the time. it sounds like a fun song. and i like what you had to say about the chems, i think a lot of people are in the same boat as you are and just won't admit it. as for drukqs, actually, a LOT of us don't consider it a disappointment. it's possibly my favorite album by him. |
