really though, this is an interesting record... really interesting free electro-improv that easily sways between really unsettling noise, and beautiful bassey ambient (really, both are present at the finest of moments on display here)... at times it struck me as what philip jeck might sound like at his most noisey and violent if he were using really hi-fi sounding material as opposed to his dusty records... (i cannot air a preference, but both techniques are very interesting) |

mmm... depends... some stuff i really do listen to quite a bit... and when i first get into records lately, i'll listen to them over and over again in the brief period of my excitement about them... then they just become part of the rotation of stuff i mix in my basement... when the mood calls for them, they get played... (that said, there are a whole lot of releases that i've listened to once or twice, and then very rarely ever again...) |
