im listening to "meast" quite a lot lately, and i think
it's pretty great...double cd, with over 2 hours of
excellent music, there's hardly a bad track on it.
he's pretty unique in what he's doing as well imo...unlike
some other big artists that are favoured around here...
i bet if afx or autechre would release an album like this,
there'd be hundreds of threads about it...yet, there were
only like two threads about "meast".
does this only show on this mb, or is he unpopular in
general?

..I don't think he's unpopular..?

I mean, I don't like his music, but quite a lot of people
about him/his music, I think.

oops, that should read:

I mean, I don't like his music, but quite a lot of people
talk about him/his music, I think.

the guy is a genius
maybe it is because his best work is from the mid 90´s,
so isn´t it time to make a new album mike?

I think people talk about quite a lot when you consider all
the other talented artists who are totally ignored here. I
personally like some of his music but I get tired of it soon

I like Bilious Paths but most of his other stuff bores me
really quickly. I suppose it's just that I'm not into the
sort of music he makes in general.

i see...so it's new thing to hear, although it was made
years ago. but still, when 26mixes were released there were
numerous threads about it, and most of us heard/had most of
those mixes before...ahh...

Haven't heard his live performance and don't hear much about
it... I'd imagine that's why

i only like lunatic harness...others are a bit too weak
imo.
and the only thing that annoys me about paradinas is that
he's constantly tweaking that filter on beatz...it gett's a
bit boring.

It should be noted that Mike P doesn't exactly have a
"personality" or "mistique" that a Aphex Twin or Aphex Twin
has, not to mention a strong backing of record company folks
and a dedicated fanbase wondering what they'll do next.

No mark against Mike. He creates some really great tunes as
well. But exposure-wise, he really hasn't had that level of
notoriety like his peers have had.

Underrated...probably. Underexposed...definitely.
