I hate Boards of Canada. All they do is take a dull beat, repeat it for 5 minutes and add some childrens' voices over the top all backwards and shit. Marvellous.

The only decent tracks BOC have ever done are Roygbiv, Aquarius, Pete Standing Alone, Julie and Candy and 1969. Not the greatest hit rate, is it?
And why are 80% of their tracks 30-second long filler material?

reply 1/ no, in fact, i think boards of canada is ok. really. they do nice tracks. just not too harsh but not too ambient-like, not too original, not too challenging, not too cold but not too much emotional,... not too anything really. well, some tracks are a bit different. but not too much.
reply 2/ qrter > Radiohead? ' _ '
reply 3/ threads about idm are so boring and always the same... -_- (and i'm so dumb for even still bothering clicking on them and replying)

BOC are 1. not IDM, 2. more tuneful than most, 3. too clever for some people (see patrick bateman's comment about the 30-second-fillers; he is obviously either too young to understand what retro sources are being pastiched there, and/or simply an ignoramus).
for what it's worth i think patrick bateman is 1. trolling for a reaction, and/or 2. a bored watmm reject (aleczandah), and/or 3. an envious musician who wishes he'd had all BOC's excellent ideas.
