Boards of Canada are crap

I hate Boards of Canada. All they do is take a dull beat,
repeat it for 5 minutes and add some childrens' voices over
the top all backwards and shit. Marvellous.

we have snipers positioned on the roof ready to strike. one
more word against the scottish ones and you'll hit the
ground like a palestinian child feeding pigeons

The only decent tracks BOC have ever done are Roygbiv,
Aquarius, Pete Standing Alone, Julie and Candy and 1969. Not
the greatest hit rate, is it?

And why are 80% of their tracks 30-second long filler
material?

out of the tracks you chose I really only like aquarius.

how can you say what you dislike about BoC and then say 1969
is good.

wait. you're telling me that the general mentality of watmm
was to delete any thread that showed a thought/opinion
against the majority?

lovely. sounds like a brilliant community.

patrick: hey, cool, whatever. i like boc, you don't, big
deal. much better idm out there than boc, anyway.

reply 1/
no, in fact, i think boards of canada is ok. really. they do
nice tracks. just not too harsh but not too ambient-like,
not too original, not too challenging, not too cold but not
too much emotional,... not too anything really. well, some
tracks are a bit different. but not too much.

reply 2/
qrter > Radiohead? ' _ '

reply 3/
threads about idm are so boring and always the same... -_-
(and i'm so dumb for even still bothering clicking on them
and replying)

BOC are 1. not IDM, 2. more tuneful than most, 3. too clever
for some people (see patrick bateman's comment about the
30-second-fillers; he is obviously either too young to
understand what retro sources are being pastiched there,
and/or simply an ignoramus).

for what it's worth i think patrick bateman is 1. trolling
for a reaction, and/or 2. a bored watmm reject (aleczandah),
and/or 3. an envious musician who wishes he'd had all BOC's
excellent ideas.

totally agree with aristotle.

I enjoy the constant, looping drum beats. Those don't do it
for me like their concentrated melodies do.

Oh my,

'Music has a right...' was a very new sound IMO. The tunes
are quite beautiful but there isn't much variation in
emotions.
