Drummand and some others (not that i am picking on you guys, it's just that you were most recent) have mentioned the fact that we rarely discuss music. This is true but there is justifacation behind this. This started as an aphextwin.nu msg board. So obviously most of us are RDJ fans. If an RDJ release would appear in the upcoming months i am sure there would be various appreciation/hate/debate threads that would appear. That being said there just isnt the kind of releases nowadays that get enough attention. Not everyone here listens to meam, proem, pole or bola. Give us a BOC release or squarepusher and it would be different. All this offtopic posting keeps us together as a community. There are various interesting off topic debates and humorous threads. There is some crap here or there but it usually is silly and with fun in mind. And if not then most likely there is some hottie that is posted. With all this in mind please remember, we are a great music community (imo). Not everything has to be 100% serious all of the time. If you have a complaint about anything do your part to make it better. Make interesting debate threads about a subject. Or whathave you but complaining fixes nothing... actions do! Thanks Virgin |

Someone (I think goDel) said something about this place being half and half music discussion and dadaist experiment. That has a certain ring of truth to me. As an infrequent enough poster, I don't participate in nonsense threads, but I do enjoy them :) |

I'm glad you wrote this. We are all happy to have a group of people with whom we can communicate regarding our possibly eclectic music tastes, and it is only natural to form bonds with these people and eventually want to discuss many things wholly unrelated to music. It is a sign of health: people on the message board like eachother, feel natural. (to a certain degree, of course. I think it is also good to now and then bitch so that people don't start threads too often which interest only themselves.) Also it is extremely easy to scan through the list and find interesting threads. It takes less than one second, no? |

this messageboard really sucks! whenever i start to post here, i'll stick for hours and hours pushing the refresh button (YES A BUTTON!!!!) and posting my crap. my life seriously degraded since i started posting here. i can't get any work done anymore, i'm late at appoinments, i've lost interest in my gf, and worst of all, my sexlife is as lively as the sahara desert. the same story probably holds for my life expectancy as well. posting here must be similar to drinking, i guess. and i wanna bet that even though i've just waken up and made my first post today, my status is going to be "addict" already. thanks a bunch xlt! and thanks kaini for the name-drop. that really made my day ;) |

There's enough music threads to go around, problem is people don't reply to them as much as they do to topics about sex, or topics made by girls. (Or topics about video games, for some of us rejects) |

The problem is this; the message board system is shit, and you have to divide the boards up into different forums to avoid this kind of bullshit posts. If there was a separate forum for general chat then maybe music topics would stay near the top long enough for a proper discussion to take place. |

I would hate for the board to be segregated. It's the melting pot mishmash of everything and nothing at once that's the major appeal to me. I can't stand boards that have a seperate ''community board''. Mundane. On that note, most of the time, community boards have 10 times as many posts as the ''on-topic'' sections. But that's neither here nor there. |
