And for the record, the new model became available one week
after I placed my order for overheating shitbox I'm using
now.

What kind of video card do you have with 3ghz and 1gig ram?
It can't be all that bad?

Thats a novel idea, and it crossed my mind a few times. But
they would probably just send me another old model. I
imaging they have a bunch they're trying to clear out.

Well it's still second best for a laptop eh? I think they
only have 128 for them.

This is what happens wen u buy a laptop! You can't blame
Alienware cos the only thing they can do to upgrade you is
to give you a new laptop. Unfortunately if you have onboard
graphics then to upgrade you need a brand new mobo which
most likely won't fit in the shell. I can feel your pain and
you must be pissed at Alienware but all you can do now is
either build a new tower/buy a new tower/build a new
laptop/buy a new laptop. Come to think of it actually, try
out Laptop Parts

You never suck so many balls as when you stoop to buy a
Dell.

It ended up with Dell sucking my balls.
My huge ass speakers that I got with it were under warranty,
and there was a scratch on them I didnt like, and they sent
me ANOTHER pair without asking me to send back the first.

They were like 120$ and the speakers are 12 inches high.
Nice booming sub too

Your 120 watt speakers are 12 inches high and cost 120
dollars.

mine are 400w klipsch, but they honestly aren't that great.
the sub is 'good', the satellites are okay, but it generally
is weak in the midranges. i hooked up some 25W speakers
from an old cheap sony stereo and it helped fill out the
midrange, but I need some real stereo speakers for sure.

I'm thinking of picking up a pair of M-Audio: Studiophile
BX8 Active Monitors

Highly recommend da BX8... that's what I've been using,
comparable to my friend's Mackies, didn't notice much of a
difference in normal home studio settings, very little if
anything.

Get some killer bass out of them... mixed that remix I have
up on these things, and this new track I'll put up next week
that just has a kicking rolling bass line

Ok- yer pissed at Alienware bcus you paid an assload for a
computer that, had you taken the time to investigate before
maxing out your visa, cant upgrade the video card just like
every single other laptop? I think you should write a
letter to your congressman and tell him what an asshole you
are.
