is drukqs a classic already?

I think so

I am listening to it right now... and so many tracks sound
to me like all time classics... like if I was listning to
polynomial-c or On... drukqs is in my opinion a classic
already

and listening to snares and many others, I see that drukqs
was not groundbreaking maybe, but still is the best of the
best in its genre

it predates everything
and yet is still ahead of its time.

No, and it never will be...it's not even half the album that
I Care Because You Do and RDJ were.

Yes. It is the best album in the entire universe.

I really like it alot. It really has so much and is varied
in subtle ways. Avril 14th is still such a great track,
mighty fine work from Mr. James!!

Billboard named it in the top 25 records of all time.

Billboard is shit.

I'm not saying the album is bad, it's just not a classic.

it will be a classic in like 10 years, its a great cd, not
sure why everyone/lots of folks hate it, there is only 1

I don't know, see I don't check Billboard because I don't
value their opinion, so regardless of whether it was
included or not my view towards them wouldn't change.

subliminal message for all to buy the cd(s) &
bye, as in bye bye

buy a record player, dude as much as you love music, i dont
know how you can live w/out one

you dont have to buy every release on vinyl, like
roygbivcore, but there are some essential eps and 12" that
you NEED

Don't think it is yet but I'm damn sure it will be. In some
circles anyway. I would describe the record as unique. To me
it is remarkable. It houses music that you wouldn't know
could (co-)exist and is remarkable that such contrasting
tracks have similar power. I think Vordhosbn would be in my
top 10 fav tracks ever.

FOR FUCKS SAKE! I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! Why the hell can't
people give into what is good and love this album. Fucking
rock fans should realise that their music is shit and give
into the awsomeness that is drukqs. I think that it is
definetely a classic already, especially as aphex has fucked
off!

Ziggomatic v17
Mt. St. Michaels Mount Ridiculous Title for Track Mix
Cock/Ver10
Vordhosbn
Omgyja Switch 7

All perfect examples of how drill'n'bass can and should be.

ya'll should try burning all the piano tracks in order to
one cd and take out all the gaps of silence..
it's great in a different, not-totally-drukq-ish way..

It's a good album...just not a classic when compared to
other stuff he has released. It was retreading old ground,
in a good but not mindblowing way. In my opinion, there are
a lot of other same era releases that are better albums than
Drukqs.

I listened to that track too many times and it kind of
ruined the effect for me. I did, however, forget afxv237 or
whatever it's called.

well if you think those two are better than Drukqs how you
are using the word 'classic' far too often. Maybe it is
just my interpretation of what a classic is which is
stopping me from labelling Drukqs as one.

(on a side note I though Go Plastic was average at best)

Go Plastic cries outside in the rain looking in through the
window at Drukqs in the warmth of his own home, laughing
with all his friends (who all think he's swell).

It's a minor classic. Didn't do anything of particular note,
didn't innovate, but what's there is impeccable (usually).
I'll be listening to this album for a long time.

didn't innovate? The whole texture of this album is quite
unique. Putting a disjointed, stark and simplistic prepared
piano piece next to drillish complex programming is fresh.

Maybe fresh, but too obvious. That was one of my least
favorite aspects of the album, though I guess that's
subjective. I do like most of the individual tracks, but the
album is always a bit of an ordeal for me, personally.
Information overload.
