i think only time can make something a classic... but as far
as drukqs and most of afx's stuff, it will be looked at as
ahead of it's time. so, yes it is a classic by rules of
paradox.

Drukqs is fuking awsome its been slated so much because (its
not pushing the envelope or some such shit) but fuck what to
do u want instead an album of white noise run through a
small childs anus and rewired into a massive can to make
something new and originall. (sorry got carried away) anyhow
im glad lots of people have voted for it I was the first
VOTER and i voted for it yay me

it is an epic undertaking to listen to it start to finish
and i admit i often skip about to different songs and
sometimes avoid particular tracks. In this sense it is like
a kind of volume of music where it can be accsessed and
enjoyed differently to a an album you just put in and hit
play. Listening to drukqs with shuffle on is a hell of a
thing.

Drukqs is the best compilation ever made, alright?

The best album is probably, oh i don't know, "The
Joshua Tree" by U2 or something like that.

It definetly is a classic already. I listened to it today,
the first time in about 5 months. And I was so amazed by the
tracks, all the details an still I found new details and
melodies in the tracks, such an amazing album.. 10+

Yes it is. I reckon in 10 years time people will consider it
his best work (of that released so far).

be.

Drukqs has too much filler. Great at times, piss poor at
others.

Never 'poor', but the too-much-filler and
shorter-would-be-better arguments have some merits.

I really really like drukqs.

Including the 'fillers'.

Think. If the 'fillers weren't there we wouldn't have heard
them!!

Therefore....

how about just using the discog thread for drukqs? I'm loving
drukqs too, but I think it would be better for all if you
used the green thread... those are more likely to have good
discussion than people going off at you for bumping old
threads.

I wish aphex would have left us a legacy of great ep's
instead of a bunch of crappy double albums.

whammy.

drukQs is a double edged sword.

It's a lovely collection of songs. The fact that it
has a kind of scope of Richard's most recent works that
cross many different genres is a realyl great one.

But this CD just does seem like a compilation, no where near
as a 'whole' effort like RDJ, ...i care because you do or
any other of his albums. I think those are Richard's
greatest achievements.

icbyd is also a collection of tracks created in the 5years
previous to the release of the album

I didn't feel like it flowed very well personally.. (ICBYD)

one of my favourites though,.. I just usually skip through
the tracks in whichever way I feel like it though...

Yeah you're right. I suppose i like that one more because
the tracks sound similar. On drukQs everything is so sparse.

it's a classic, and in the context of global consciousness,
it's certainly still fresh and innovative, as well.
