mapp, you mentioned monad theory once (sorry if it seems
creepy that I know--sometimes I have an acute memory is
all). Were you talking about the programming concept or the
weird pseudo-religious shit? I only knew about the former
but I just came across a reference to the latter.

Actually I only heard of it during a conversation with some
people from a Philosophy class. I'm not sure who originated
it, I'm pretty sure it's quite old. But I think it was used
in a theistic view of uh, things.

Basically, we're all monads, which is sort of like a
self-contained movie reel.

I like the word. Monad.

How is your monad?

the reference I just read says:

"..saw the whole world as a collection of beings called
'monads' whose activity consisted in the perception of one
another on the basis of a pre-established harmoney laid down
by God.."

This disambiguation page at wikipedia references lots of meanings, first three of
which related to that, and the other four the shit I knew.

I remember being really surprised when you mentioned it
(didn't expect to see that on here), that's why I
remembered.

anyway, thanks for clarifying this great enigma

rather stale and dry, thank you very much.

Yeah I think it's a cool word.

In programming contexts, a similarly used word which is also
satisfying to say is 'lambda'. Shit I feel like a bad-ass
now.

I wish I had a sweet ass memory which enabled me to retain
perfectly all I saw, while still having fast memory access..
damnit

Hopefully we can stuff like that get that implanted in the
near future.

hopefully rich people won't be infinitely superior to
everyone in the future due to 'upgrades' like this
