1) Doesn't realize his potential
2) One trick pony artist
3) Definately is over-rated
4) BOC is way better.

into why.

But in response to the rest of my points, i still believe
those are true. *ahem* Xammax

1. Doesn't realize his potential? He's making money from
making music.

2. The beats (his 'trick') have definitely improved
over time... early releases show that the focus was more on
individual sounds rather than speed and complexity. And
while most people are turned off by the undercurrent of the
aggression in his work, let me tell you that the main reason
people suck BoC's cocks are because of the so-called
nostalgic feel running underneath pretty much every single
one of their tracks.. which to me, sounds pretty
formulaic.

3. Overrated? Not really a problem with his music at all,
that.

4. See 3.

Seems to me that hes trying to be obtaining this
'hardcore/dark/goth' image that makes me want to puke. His
voice samples are terrible and cheesy, his melodies are
subcon, and his percussion makes my ears want to bleed.

offline DJ Xammax from not America on 2004-05-16 12:50 [#01190792]
Points: 11512 Status: Lurker

Well whatever, each of these 'faults' work for me and many
others on different levels. I agree sometimes the melodies
are a little underwhelming, but for every simplistic tune,
there is a great one (see Songs About My Cats for excellent
atonal melodies and Winter In The Belly of a Snake for more
melancholic stuff).

I'm just glad you didn't bring up the age-old argument of
him being untalented... why don't YOU try and program beats
like that.. bet you can't :P

oh yes, especially the Herbie samples are so
hardcore/dark/goth, and let us not forget the track dance
like you're selling nails,

i too rather hear voice samples like: ORANGE

ORANGE         ORANGE
ORANGE

                      ORANGE
    ORANGE

ORANGE
                  ORANGE
ORANGE

ORANGE

Actually I can do what he's doing. I just dont care to waste
the time and effort to do something that annoys and bores
the hell outta me. I have plenty of other things to do first
before I waste my life proving that Vsnares is nothing
special to other people who thinks that he is amazing.

Morton - Herbie?

Btw, There are a few tracks I do like of VS, but usually i'm
not in the mood to ever listen to them, but there are a few
inspiring ones here and there. Its just that 85% of the rest
is trite dribble.

Seriously, not being an ass or anything, but i could. But
honest to god I have no time right now, working a fulltime
job, still trying to finish MY first album (which has been
in production for over 2 years now), running my record
label, and trying to have a life outside the music scene,
and looking for school classes to try to do. I cant even
complete a remix for Earvalve right now for the Sonic
aud-stim thingy because i'm too held up right now.
