New for you and yo crew

Frenzy in C Major - Name speaks for itself.

I Will Be At Your Window - Bit slower than my usual
speed, but my friends have said this track has some of the
best melody i've ever made.

The Easy Way - My first attempt at dub. Criticism
especially appreciated on this one.

The Easy way is not your usual standard. That bass line is
good though.. Really just comes at you. The drums niecly
blend into the whole thing too. Nicely produced track.
Don't like the way it ends either. Seems a bit aprubt

Frenzy in C Major is fucking awesome mate. Really like this
track. It's just great. I can't think what else to say.

I will be at your window = YES! Quality. Everything just
seemed to work.

don't you have any tracks where a mayor is running from
something

Nifty as usual. I won't comment on the awesome bits, because
those make up pretty much all of these tracks. I do have to
agree, though, that the ending of The Easy Way might be a
little abrupt. Reminds me a little of how when I was
learning piano I would sometimes stop dead in the middle of
a piece to indicate that I couldn't reliably play the rest.
There's this sense that it isn't really over, it just
happened to stop playing at that point.

These songs are really great... I can't affirm I like the
way they sound but they are well produced and composed
indeed.

(I do like the comment above)

I often listen to your tracks and they're all very good, but
I especially liked The Easy Way, that really stands out for
me as a top track, very playful, a joy to listen to. NICE
ONE.

Easy Way - Its ok. The drums are good, and the melody is
good too, but I think you need some transitions. I found
myself losing interest halfway through.

I will be at your window - A little to loud and gritty for
me. Reverse synth (or late attack) in the melody is a nice
touch. Could use a bit more atmosphere though.

Frenzy in C major! Nice, I recommend youl submit this as a
track for the pcr compilation ^_^ Just let me know and I'll
save it with the reset of the submissions.

The dubby thing is interesting - I'd like to hear more of
the way it starts out. The progression has a light rolling
meandering feel that never paints itself into a corner.

Though to be proper dub you have to drop some syncopated
echo here and there, usually with lots of space. Like, the
echoes should be triplets except they're a little too fast
or slow for the tempo.

frenzy is sort of mayor-running-from-something-ish.

Why all these three tracks are mono? I have damn shitty
computer speakers with poor sound quality and headphones -
but mono on headphones?

I don't get it. Why? Isn't it fake artificial? What for do
you resign stereo space?

it's part of my sound, the nerdocre sound. i always liked
the mono old-school video game sound, and that's how i
write. however, Go here and get 8-Bit Breakcore
Action if you want stereo stuff.

the easy way is awesome, i'd really like to hear nick hexum
of 311 rapping/singing over it, as a remix of course.

but yeah, good work, its a fun lil diddy that im definately
going to have to throw on cd.

I will be At Your Window is nice too. Kinda reminds me of
ultravisitor for some reason, with da oddio flow do.

thanks man. actually i'm saving these for an actual cd
release or something. (an album not in mp3 form) because
this is some of the best music i've written.

sempoo - i once again apologize for the inconvenience, but
thank you for your patience and understanding. :)

offline Sanguine from San Francisco (United States) on 2004-05-18 18:38 [#01194733]

Easy Way - Like the bass line right off, stuttered very
nicely. Beat is neat, cut up reggae, neat idea. I recognize
the Oddio drums in there, nice drum and bass stuff
happening.

It's a little more full than I was expecting from how the
piece starts out, wanted some more of that stuttering stuff.
As soon as the synths come in it's just incredibly full and
loses the feel. Actually that's not true, the drums hold
well, but still seems like there's too many of them

Just means it's hard to hear some of the cool things you're
doing, the frequency of the bass drum squelches and such are
drowned out, but the hihat and snare rhythms come out clear
above everything very very nicely.

Drags on a little long for being that heavy without release,
never comes back to the beginning really... I want more of
that

Frenzy in C Major - Hmm... nice drop after the arpeggio.
Don't like the synth you chose after that but the drums
sound killer. You're really getting the drum programming
down very nicely, what are you using to that? Cutting up
drum loops or using single samples?

Gotta work on the progression, you tease us with the
beginning and then lay this incredibly full synth pad down
that totally changes the energy

See this is the problem... you don't change the overall feel
of the track much until the end when you drop out the synth
for just a bit, that part sounds great. Needs way more of
that.

Maybe go back and look at the piece as a whole, a sine way
or something, where does it peak and where does it open up.
It doesn't do that much, carries the same energy the entire
time and prevents me from really tuning into the drums
unless I concentrate on it.

Same general critique for I will be at your Window, didn't
like that one as much, synths weren't doing it for me

Overall man, great work... your drum programming is getting
wicked
