Yeah, I'd heard about that, but the guy who told me was a bit of spinner of tall tales, so I was never sure whether or not to believe him. Nice area though. We used to go on holiday to a caravan park in the gower and we always used to call off in mumbles along the way. I even had a teddy bear named "mumbles" that I bought there when I was about 6/7. :) |

Ha ha, Colin Jackson used to train over Barry Island some mornings and I saw him filling up his gold sportscar at Waycock cross (that roundabout before you get to mine) petrol station a few years back! Haha. That'd be right. I didn't know until the other day that Jackson still holds the world record for 110m hurdles. Seeing as the Welsh have a predecliction for elevating their homegrown heroes to such hight status, Jackson is largley ignored. Racism and homophobia still have their hold on the Welsh mind it seems. You're right about the racism though, whilst English people are happy to have a crack at the Welsh verbally, you never feel you're going to get the shit kicked out of you for being Welsh on nights out in England. The same cannot be said for English people going out in Wales... And there's even more racism up the vallys. Where I used to do Kung Fu there were a couple of houses with swastikas in the windows there :/ |
