well, i use logic, but i assume the basic functions are the same.
youll need to specify your input in cubase... on the specific track you want it to come in to. once you do that, youll need to record enable the track, by clicking on the record button, on that track,
im pretty sure thats how it works... i used cubase for a bit, and I think thats how you do it.
if that doesnt work, google will

check around in the device menu and around that area.. i do not have cubase on my current computer so i cant check it up for you.. and i dont have an guittar and have never recorded a guittar either.
but check device menu and "setup" menus.. once ur in those menus.. u should try out different options, just guess your way through that part, shouldnt be too hard

it should be accessable both in the mixer area, or in the arrange window, on the mixer strip to the left,
look for something that says inputs and outputs.

a guitar is a line signal. it needs a a secondary device to produce gain (hence guitars generally need amplifiers). if you want to record your guitar directly into cubase using your 'convertor' it's going have to go into a mixer first, even then it might still be quiet. someway though your guitar signal needs to be amplified before going right into the computer.
