Well, not exactly an "album" but it's my favorite
nonetheless:

Danny Howells - Global Underground 24/7

What an excellent release this is. If you don't like
progressive at least check out disc 1 which is actually
quite IDM'ish and excellent beachmusic or lazy
summerafternoon/night type of stuff. Only quality songs
guaranteed.

That sort of jazz-rock Canterbury fusion, maybe a little
Kraut... longish songs, REALLY busy drummer, with a
horn/winds section, organ and a little vocals, most of which
make little sense (I think). Very much like the Soft
Machine, except the singer is nowhere near as cool and
secksy as Robert Wyatt. It's well recorded, though...
