i spent 2 years taking E, partying, flying to gigs all over Europe, going to raves, smoking weed on the comedown etc. I spent the last year trying to forge something more longer lasting and undoing all the fuckups i made - no job, no decent relationships, superficial friends. Sure i had good times but they were a broken patchwork of short-term highs. I'd rather something rich and longlasting now and i'm getting there. Most of my friends are the same. Advice: Do em very occasionally, not every bleedin weekend like i did! |

Someone was querying how much e it takes to suppress serotonin levels.... well it's a meaningless question unless you're speaking quantitatively, because any amount of MDMA(even a single dose) will have some effect on your serotinergic system, and the time this effect takes to dissipate (if at all) is a simple product of whatever your arbitary baseline of returning to normality is. For example, one cigarette is likely to leave nicotine in your bloodstream for months and even years, but at extremely low and probably undetectable levels. What Gwely Mernans was talking about ("made my dormant hereditary mental illness' schizo-active") is different from the effect on your serotinergic system, which can lead to depression after intense use of MDMA. Gwely seems to be referring to the phenomenon whereby a pseudohallucinogenic experience with any psychoactive substance (could be weed, e, obviously LSD/acid are the most frequent cause) can precipitate an episode of psychosis in those with a latent propensity to such mental health problems. Such experiences can often trigger the first episode of such a mental illness. Bottom line: if you have any history of psychosis in your family (schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, paranoid personality disorder, bipolar disorder) you must be aware that the risks of mental illness following drug use are enormously increased. |
