AHHHHHHHHH
My absynth has not been working for months.
I started getting this problem, where Id save my logic file, and the next time I opened it, it would make logic quit out.
So I removed my pluggins from the components folder in audio/plugins, and after testing which ones worked together, alone, or not at all... I found that absynth 2 was the culprit.
So I had to take it out of the folder.... but now I have no absynth, and i fucking love that software. ahhhhh
and no updates are out since the last one (moooonths ago)
IM MAD
*pout*

Report the problem to NI directly, you are a paying customer you will probably have more luck with them than I did.

yeah... but ive been looking on the forum there, and there seems to be quite a few complaints with it, working with other software, and the companies lack of response to the problem :-\

Yes other software companies are beginning to have to issue patches so NI stuff works with their software when the problem is down to NI in the first place.

yeh but you don't get it.
Absinth by default is very very very bitter.
you add salt to it, you're gonna make it taste even worse

A lot of absinth(e)s taste nasty. La Fe Verte is the only one that I can even begin to enjoy taste wise (although Hills is as good a mixer as absinth gets with its comparatively neutral taste). Hapsburg is good "get out of it" stuff, but no way will you be able to drink enough to get the "absinth effect". La Fe is one of the best for that- not meaning to boast (and it's nothing to be proud of) but I put away a whole bottle of that the day my XLT board members tapestry pic was taken. Definately feeling something other than drunk then...

No no no :)
And not all the stuff you can get now is "nothing like real absinth" as some claim. True, it is outlawed in a hell of a lot of countries, but the Uk ain't one of them. It's Thujone which give it the absinth effect (and aside from the killer alcohol content) what makes it illegal. People often compare it to cannabis, perhaps because it's similair to canniboids (sp?) in terms of chemical structure, but the effects are noticeably different (although to write them down they seem similair). I suppose it's more a sense of elation and less of confusion/lack of caring.
They don't allow the really potent (high thujone) ones in UK (or EU countries where it is allowed, so far as I know), but not all absinthes historically had v. high thujone contents. La Fe is made from a reciped over 100 years old- it's undoubtably the nearest to an "original" absinthe you can still get and that's not v. high thujone.
Mappatzee: Yep, sugar/spoon is generally for absinthes (like La fe), the flame thing for czech ones (absinth). I tend to be of the opinion that both are more for the ritual (like prepping a bong/rolling a joint/etc. with other drugs) rather than the effect, but some of my friends prefer the taste when served that way. I'm not fussy, I'm happy to drink it as a shooter as well as "properly".

I believe it is available in some better supermarkets/offlicences. My friend claims it is available in Tescos but I somehow doubt that lol. Umm I have seen it online in several places, try searching for absinthe or absinth, one spelling is more potent or something?? I can't remember dude sorry.

True dat. FL Studio had to build in a workaround for Reaktor because it was receiving pitch bend range resets and interpreting them as controller messages, and it would do shit like set some of your controls to zero.
I mean, I appreciate that NI is not Microsoft so they can't afford to get a team of programmers working on maintenance and debugging at the same time that they get another team to develop new products to keep the $$ flowing in, but sheesh.
Oh well, at least they're not as openly abusive and hostile as the FL Studio support ogres. :D

No honestly- you can get it in Tescos!
They got some distro deal with La Fee, as did Waitrose. Tescos is actually the cheapest I've found it (£20 for a 70cl bottle), cheaper even than buying in bulk online.
Only the larger stores do it and only in posher areas. My home town one don't carry it (and won't despite my requests), but I tend to stock up on it in the big store in Cardiff.
I've still got some of this Hills to get through and it's rank in comparisson. I'll pick up a couple of bottles of asti and knock up some gypo "dead in the afternoon" when the barbeque weather sets in.
