...how good Aphex really is.

I have spent the day going through old albums and stuff and
he really has got something special that sets him apart from
most other people.

that's why we're all here isn't it. Aphex is my musical idol
and he probably always will be. What amazes me about his
work is that even if he makes a track that is not so good,
it's still good because it's aphex, if you get my drift.

yesterday I thought about it aswell, and I wondered why it
is that he is a "stand alone" in the IDM world

at first his character/personality crossed my mind
his name is kind of magic I think
and ofcourse his sound is unique, is it because he
transformed a lot of his gear/machines?

yeah. his goodness is staggering. 'specially when you
think how old some of his stuff is.

he's not a god. aphex goes beyond devinity.
.
.
.
.
no seriously, I think he's just a normal guy that happens to
make not so normal music.

one thing, though,, i wish he would just release all his
music as "aphex twin".

but, i guess the deliberate-confusion-causing is part of his
appeal..

That's what I've been rediscovering recently. His stuff is
not mindlessly culturally memetic as so much else is. I've
given up why so many people mention some of aphex's
primitive material as major examples of his odd "genius".
Can't people see how much more dedication and effort and
attention to detail it takes to create the equation track
than analogue bubblebath stuff? You can probably find things
that are similar to analogue bubblebath by many obscure
electronic artists, but very few have the musical
sophistication to produce the equation track so it stands
out as unique.
